Cocktail cabinet woes RPi 4b 8gb
-
Hello,
I'm trying to use a 1080p 41 inch tv for a cocktail table set up. I have an ipac2 usb controller 2 player set up. So far I have the screen rotate figured out in the emulationstation config with --screenrotate 1 -- screensize 960 1280. the only thing i didn't rotate was the text because i'm not going to be doing much typing after i have it all set up. My issue is when I try to launch a game in MAME it just boots back to the menu screen. I've tried changing the video outputs when launching and other versions of mame. I have these roms on another cabinet and they work great. I'm confused. When i try to load a core in retroarch all that is there is the virtual retropad. Do i need to install the MAME core in retroarch if it's already showing in the menu? I've read online that there are issues with a vertical pi4b set up, but i see that some folks have them working, so i know that it CAN be done. Could someone please throw this dog a bone? I have never had this much trouble setting up a retropie before. I'm ashamed at how many youtube videos i've watched recently. I've come to my wits end. If there's anything you'd recommend, I will surely try it. Thank you!

Arcade roms are tailored to the particular arcade emulator and it's version - see the arcade/MAME emulation doc page. You most likely don't have the correct romset archives for the particular arcade emulator you're using, I don't think it has to do with the orientation of the display.

Step 2 is very important here. Console games do not require this, but arcade works differently.
