Is there a way to get a cocktail cab experience for basically everything on Rpi4?

      Hey there @ajlino ,

I am in the same boat as you with this issue. I have a 2 player cocktail table built running Retropie on a Rasp Pi 3.

I understand that not many roms support cocktail mode where the screen flips for P2, but I was hoping at least games like Pacman, DK, Galaga would work since the versions of roms I have appear to support this. But for the life of me I cannot get this screen flip to work at all on any game. I did manage to get Galaga to flip for P2 but it was all messed up and not playable.

Did you ever have any success on getting this screen flip in 2p mode to work? It's frustrating seeing videos online of people getting this to work with no issue at all, and I am following the same exact method.

@iandaemon What about the title "Lock N Chase" or that "Tower of Druaga" game, I remember in the Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk anime they had a cocktail arcade cabinet in the dungeon of that very game.

I went a slightly different route with mine. I went for a thin build: INITIAL IDEA= firstidea.png and HALF DONE= halfdone.jpg.

@caver01 Also, the DIP switch settings for Cocktail mode has existed in AdvanceMAME for years. I was using it in other PI solutions before trying RetroPie (what was I thinking?).

@caver01 Great info, I was considering adding side by side controls on one side for horizontal games, but this may be a factor. My focus is the older classic vertical that have the cocktail DIP switch setting as far as 2 players. Now I have considered just adding a usb port to the player 1 end so I can plug someone in and play a quick street fighter game. I was not familiar with the definition of view angle but now I see what you mean.

This shader has recently been rewritten by the amazing hunterk at libretro to create this effect at a very low processing cost in mame2003. You might have to tweak the parameters a bit in the retroarch menu or the code. It works great, and scales to fit the screen just like cocktail mode in mame2010.

@GtBFilms I left in as much as the cardboard filler inside as I could to help in not slide while still letting the cables get where they needed to.

We cut it so close to the screen dimentions that overall it's a very snug fit. I suppose if you were really worried about it sliding around you could drill holes in the bottom of the table to match those found on the back of the monitor where I removed the mounting plate piece. Then it would just be screwed into place. Another alternative would be to put blocks in place on the table that prevent the screen from sliding rather than relying on the cardboard. So far I havent had any problems though
