CoolCV Joysticks Above "1"

Has anybody gotten joy2 or above to work with this emu? I have an arcade cab with two USB arcade style sticks and currently one ColecoVision controller connected (I converted the Coleco controller to USB using a ColecoVision RetroBox Board). Using jstest, all of my buttons work great and I mapped them properly in CoolCV Mappings. However, it doesn't work when the joystick is at joy2. My joy0 and joy1 buttons appear to work but not my Coleco controller at joy2. Anybody have any ideas?

I just tried to map js2 and got the same results. It's likely a limitation in the software. You may have to settle for key-mapping the third controller.
-
@mediamogul Are you talking about mapping the joystick to certain keyboard buttons? Where would you do this? CoolCV is outside of RetroArch right?

@amdpower question for you. Is the coleco controller always hooked up? If it is you could always have that as joy 0 and set the config files for the other emulators programmed to joy 1&2. If it isnt always hooked up then change the order the controllers are plugged into the the usb ports so when the coleco controller is plugged in it becomes controller 0 and when you unplug it the other joystick becomes joy 0.

@edmaul69
I leave it always connected and was considering that but I also use Daphne and think I will run into a similar problem because Daphne wants to use the first game pad. -

That's very true. Daphne was actually the reason I started learning how to use xboxdrv to begin with.

I actually emailed the developer of CoolCV and it does appear to be a limit of the emulator. He said he'll try to get it addressed in the next code change. Cool indeed.

@amdpower its funny, i am a beta tester for oscar. I suppose i could have just asked him... he is probably one of the coolest retro game programmers there are. I honestly dont know how he has time for a wife and kid and a job with how much he programs for retro systems.

I'm a big fan of his homebrew titles as well. He seems like a nice guy.

While where on the topic about joystick mapping. The alternative would be to use

@Rion coolcv is really easy to set up the controller in the config file. I would not use any other emulator myself but the only other one i would recommend is bluemsx. Not sure if the libretro version plays coleco games.
-
@edmaul69 bluemsx for libretro sadly don't play Colecovision yet. There was a issue about it on libretro github but that was a long time ago.
Probably just me that want to use shaders and overlays so i can get that retro feeling.
-
@Rion i would love to have scanlines on coleco. Its one of the few emulators i have the doesnt have them.
-
@Rion bluemsx-libretro runs them just fine... they just don't have working controller hooks yet. So you can't even get one working let alone two.
-
I did not know that. To bad about the input would love some bezel and shader support.
