MAME ROW #17 - Scion
-
F1 makes me feel like i'm driving the road not the car.
yeah Scion it is. -
@mviars
Yeah, F1 gives me a headache just watching the video of gameplay. -
Scion won unanimously! Let's play!
-
Oops sorry, didn't get time to take a look at these this week. Now I have though, and I would have voted for Scion anyway.
F1 makes me feel pretty nauseous very quickly, and Shanghai Kid isn't exactly the fluid fighter we later came to expect from the genre!
Scion is pretty good, although I get a weird persistent motion effect after playing it for a while, when on the High Score screen - it feels like the whole screen is still moving!
I've only managed 25520 so far.
-
I think Scion suffers from Mystic Riders syndrome, as in, you get hit by a projectile you don't see.
-
35330 is my best!
had to get past the 'boss' for that. the next set of levels are ridiculous. really like this game!
-
And here's the dedicated overlay I just made.
I cannot test it right now.. can anybody confirm it works fine ?
Based on Arcade Flyer: couldn't find any other decent artwork.
-
@UDb23 It seems to work fine for me with RetroPie X86. I'm not able to test it on a Raspberry Pi right now.
-
@obsidianspider thanks! It looks there's some extra black space between the game area and the overlay on the sides. Will be able to test later today.
-
Just tested on my Pi.
Overlay works fine; check here. -
46840!
-
@GtBFilms Great ! Well done.
-
Hello fellows. I'm very very busy currently. Can somebody keep the MAME ROW going? (my vote is for @obsidianspider :-) )
I hope to come back soon.
Cheers!
-
my vote was just a suggestion, but any volunteer is welcome! :-)

I just landed in Amsterdam on my way home. I have a bit of a layover, so I'll make the post shortly.
-
MAME ROW #18 is live!
-
@obsidianspider @meleu
Sorry, I would have done this but wasn't sure how to do it.I've now read through the instructions in a previous ROW thread and volunteer to step in if both of you are busy in the future!
I put together a little MS Access database to perform the draw, but posting the new thread etc. is all still a manual process.
-
@GtBFilms @meleu gave me a link to his script and data file in a previous thread and I've been using that for the data, and to generate the new post I'm just "Quoting" the old post and then removing the

from the beginning of each line with aFind Replace
to get the bulk of the content and then add the most recent MAME ROW and of course adjust the three games to choose from, etc.That way you're not manually creating everything from scratch.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
