      @chubsta said in ZX Spectrum keyboard - Pi400 mapping:

      Even just a printout which shows which keys on the Pi relate to which keys on the Spectrum would be a nice start as I currently struggling to marry up the keys on the Pi with what I would like to achieve on the 'Spectrum'.

      Assuming you're using the fuse core, I don't think the mapping is that complicated. The core docs show the keyboard is sent as is, but I assume this applies to the core when game focus mode is enabled in RetroArch. Unfortunately, the PI400's keyboard doesn't include the 'Scroll Lock' key which is used by RetroArch to toggle 'game focus mode', so you'll have to rebind it to another key.

      Alternatively, you can give Zesarux a try and see how it fits with the Pi400.

      @dsquared

      I am unable to deselect "en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8" or select "en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8" When I attempt to select

      en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8" I can not place a * in the [ ]. I am unable to remove the * from the "[ ] en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8" line. I leave the cursor on "[ ] en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8"

      how are you selecting/deselecting? on a keyboard it's the space bar, and then you need to use the tab key to select 'OK' (and then enter to use it).

      Configuring the keyboard in ES doesn't mean you can't use it as a keyboard in the emulators. Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first and specify which emulators have you tried and didn't work.

      @RedNifre It depends on how it's compiled on Ubuntu. On Retropie, it uses SDL2 for the UI (as Emulationstation), on Ubuntu I assume it uses GTK3.
      If you want to dig more and submit a bug report to the Vice project, you can try enabling only the SDL2 UI when compiling Vice and see if you can reproduce the problem also on Ubuntu.
