RetroPie goes black after pressing the configuration button
-
I installed a lot of rims from a usb stick it worked properly but then when I decided to leave the system by pressing f4 the screen turned black and you can’t exit it
Raspberry pi3b+
not overclocked
Newest version of RetroPie
No Kodi
PS Can still play games but other things can’t do -
Did that persist even after a reboot?
-
Yes
-
Ok now it says under voltage detected what can I do?
-
@koogelpotato What model power supply are you using?
-
@thedatacereal I’m using raspberry pi micro usb cable that came with the package
-
@koogelpotato What package is it? It sounds like the power supply isn't providing enough voltage.
also, do you have anything plugged into the USB ports besides a keyboard?
-
@thedatacereal well monitor is connected to pi with usb cables
-
@koogelpotato If the monitor is being powered by the Pi then either the monitor is needing too much power or your power supply isn't powerful enough.
-
@thedatacereal meaning that I have to get a better power supply. Also if I attach rechargeable batteries will it help?
-
@koogelpotato The Pi needs 5v give or take 5%. 4.75 to 5.25V basically. Adding extra voltage runs a risk of damage. Make sure your power supply is 5.1v 2.5a.
Was it an official kit or just something on eBay? Many generic power supplies do not provide necessary requirements even though they are labeled as such.
Also, what kind of monitor is it?
-
@thedatacereal came with a kit also it’s an lcd monitor
