I have been trying for the last 24 hours to download retropie 4.4
      https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/releases/download/4.4/retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz

from the main RetroPie.org.uk link in the Downloads section. I am gettgin error 403 after the file download gets about 50% complete. I have tried multiple browsers across multiple operating systems. I have tried multiple download managers outside of browsers. I have re-booted my router, and my cable modem. I even called by internet suppliers to check if they were obstructing. It really feels like the issue is on the Github.com side. I even tried other files from the same gethub repository and get the same results.
I was able to successfully download the source files that are small file, but none of the large image files. Any ideas?

@jmhogan0 The file is actually hosted on Amazon's servers, but it's of little comfort. We had spurious reports over time of users not being able to download the image, but it's not always clear why the download stalls.
You could try to download the torrent (see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4400/torrent-download-retropie), but make sure you verify the hash of the file or just install Raspbian and install manually (see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/).
