Multiplayer Controller Recommendations | 4 player, RPI5
-
Hello everyone,
I recently got into RetroPie and am running a RPI 5 with RetroPie on top of RaspberryPiOS. Additionally I stream Dolphin and PCSX2 from my gaming PC to my pi via steamlink.
For single player, I got everything running to my satisfaction with a wired Xbox 360 controller. But now I would like to setup multiplayer for up to four players. Is anyone of you already running a multiplayer setup and can give recommendations/ lessons learned in regards of controllers?
E.g. I read about a lot of connectivity issues with bluetooth controllers on raspberries. But I wondered if the newer pi might have resolved this.
But even if connectivity is solved, I am a bit worried about latency if I was to buy into wireless controllers.
Using steamlink adds another layer of complexity of course, if anyone has experience with this, please let me know what controller setup worked for you as well! Also, I only really heard about the Xbox controllers supporting up to 8 players with one dongle, are there other brands offering something similar?
Controllers I was considering so far:
-
SN30 Pro wired
-
SN30 Pro wireless
-
SN30 Pro 2 wireless
-
Xbox Series X wireless
-
Offbrand Xbox controllers like Gamesir
