transferring ROMS to retropie on a raspberry pi zero

Hi. As a newbie to all of this i've been following the tutorial on retropies website all the way to when i'm going to place some ROMS on the PI. I do exactly as the tutorial says but when i put the USB stick in the raspberry pi (with roms loaded in the specific folders) the USB stick blinks for ages (sometimes less) and when it's done i restart the emulator and no games are there.

have i missed something? what am i doing wrong?

@MEMattsson please give an example of a filename that is not copying (complete with extension), and the folder you have place it in.

if they're not showing up it's probably because you have the wrong file type for the system you're trying to use.

i'm place for example:

"Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers (U).smc" (all of them are .smc)
in the E:\retropie\roms\snes folder
And the NES-files in the nes folder.

what do you mean with complete with extension?

can you check you haven't turned 'parse gamelists only' ON as per https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/FAQ#why-does-shut-down-and-reboot-take-ages

How to replicate the problem: none of the ROMS stick on the PI, i place them in the correct folder on mu USB drive and connect it to my PI, wait for it to stop blinking and removes it and still nothing

im having similar issues only my snes roms will transfer none of the others

Place the first time an empty USB stick in your retropie after correct format. Wait for it to transfer the folders.
Take out usb stick, put it in the computer. Populate the correct ROMS under the correct file of the system you are emulating.
Now, place the UsB stick back to the retropie and wait so it can save the ROMS on to SD and you are done.

@seeker But, sorry, a noob question. I plug the USB with the roms (zipped), anyone in its folders, and when I turn on the Raspi, all the roms will be transferred to Retropie, isn't it? Well, I have to wait the yellow light stops blink. But, I waited near six hours :S and it continues blinking. I turnoff the raspberry. Is it normal? I'm really sorry to ask something so simple, but... I suppose I'm very clumsy. And I was looking for an answer, but nothing.
