Generally you do not want to mess with the permissions of such system files :)
Just modify them with sudo or on a computer, its safer overall.

I'm no expert in this (so disclaimer over) but could it be setup to happen automatically using the idle settings?

thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it

After some consideration, I think I might leave emulating the PSX, N64, Dreamcast and Saturn on the Pi, alone as I have another project in mind to do those one that wont require the Pi. At this point I just wanna make a emulation console that can play the classic stuff (NES, SNES, SMS, SMD, ect, ect) So with that being said, will that still require a heatsink?

Asking because I wanna know what I need to buy so I can do it all at once >.>

@diegzumillo said in USB gamepad plus more buttons?:

I just need a couple more! not an entire gamepad

You could get one of the many usb NES pads and map the event codes from its B&A buttons alongside the event codes from your Sabrent into one virtual joystick device using "Linux Joystick Mapper".

Hi, Thanks for your quick answer,

I put it in the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/neogeo folder.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did SSH into the unit and used nano to analyze the contents of the config.txt file located at "/boot/config.txt" however none of the settings in there seemed relevant. The only overclock setting I could fine in there was for the "Arm" and it seemed as though the setting was meant for the first generation Pi board. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Wrong file location perhaps? Below is a link to a screenshot.
