    Ah! So my borders on the top were actually overscan issues. My screen has some specific values I needed to set. They are right where I need them to be now, so the issue may now be related to aspect ratio. I'll poke around a bit more.

    @GreenHawk84 try lowering the volume in the service menu: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-mame2003#service-menu

    Thanks, it seems to have helped a lot. Sometimes things can fuzz a little, but not nearly as bad. The other emulators don't seem to do as well either.

    @jazzyninja you can delete roms within emulationstation (within edit metadata i think). not recommended in mame, as you can only safely delete clone roms, unless you have non-merged set.

    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs

    there are a number of pre-built sets that remove clones, or you can make them yourself :)

    @GabhanEIS said in ROMS won't load for MAME Emus:

    Excellent suggestions - mounting the USB drive as /home/pi/RetroPie/roms works perfectly! Editing the fstab file is a little daunting but thankfully it worked first time on reboot too! Many thanks @dankcushions - it seems that messing with es_systems.cfg is certainly not the way to go!

    great! :) I will add a guide to the wiki soon so hopefully this method gets more widely used.

    I've read that link prior to posting here. The only thing that gave me pause this time is the mention of a "ROM header". I think what's wrong is that the NES zip files contain a number of ROMs per zip. I'll have to unpack a handful and see if that's where I went wrong.

    Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully it's set me in the right direction.

    @travazz maybe: https://m.reddit.com/r/PokemonReborn/comments/2rwtbi/modpost_pokémon_reborn_frequently_asked_questions/ might be possible to run it through easyrpgmaker from zerojays retropie-extra repository but I haven't tried so I wouldn't know. Probably unlikely though and if it did run I doubt it would have decent performance

    @woody said in Why are my mame roms not working on Rpi when they work in PCs version of mame.:

    Thanks guys, as im sure you can detect I'm new to this environment , learning all the time.

    As you say it's quite a process sifting through working roms and so on.

    Thanks again

    Right on.

    The wiki is a fantastic resource. Everyone's scenario is different, feel free to reach out when you need a hand.

    It's definitely a process, but a fun one!

    Thanks. I suspected it might be something like that, although I don't think installing gcc-4.7 should modify the default gcc itself - at least it didn't when I tested just now - maybe some build script did it (perhaps in an older retropie).

    it should be ok now we are forcing 4.9 now.

    It's a very good idea, I'll make some tests on my pc before, and then report the problem if everything is fine with it. Thank you very much!

    i will work on it, try to catch the event for rumble and made some comment in the code and printf in libretro.c
    I need to found a ps3 controller.

    https://github.com/libretro/mupen64plus-libretro/issues/100
    in that tread Twinaphex say that udev driver or sdl2 driver work for mumpen64 if the virtual controler is set with rumble pack (N64 emulator).

    @darkside1exisle

    I can't answer your question, but I've noticed an issue with how dates are displayed when scraping metadata.

    Perhaps it's part of the various bug fixes and improvements included in Version 4.0 BETA 2: (June 21, 2016).

    @senkun said in PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" TFT screen and a Raspberry PI 3 cannot run RetroPie:

    @babybunny said :

    Yes I have the same boot/config.txt but im trying to run retropie not Jessie Raspbian.

    Yes, I understand that. Whichever way you ended up with Retropie, either by an install over Jessie or from a direct image, I had assumed you meant retropie.

    When you said;

    The screen runs perfectly with the latest Jessie Raspbian image, but does not run with RetroPie, just a white or black screen.
    RetroPie will show up on my HDMI monitor just fine, but it will not show on the 3.5 Pitft.

    I had assumed you meant your retropie install shows up on hdmi but not on the TFT. Is this not the case?

    Retropie will display on my HDMI monitor but not on the TFT, yes this is the case. I have decided to give up on the PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5" TFT+Touchscreen and will try the PiTFT Plus 320x240 3.2" TFT + Resistive Touchscreen when it arrives in the mail. I am glad all these parts don't cost too much money. Adafruit has stated that this 3.2 inch PITFT is exactly like the 2.8 PITFT in all regards; same driver, same resolution, the only difference is that its a little bigger, and the raspberry pi itself wont know the difference either, which leads me to believe that it will work with Retropie natively. I will let you know if it doesn't. Thank you for your support.
