@pbc I'm not sure what your problem is, please open a new topic and describe the problem, adding the info in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@granderjoree just for future reference you need to remove the # before the line in the config file in order for it to be read. # means ignore this line. That's why permit root login was not working for you.

@mitu in this case he got the message because he deleted known_hosts on our recommendation.

The PiBaker should work with this image. Then you've a working RetroPie and the forum will give you support.

      For a quick overview:

Enable WIFI without having a keyboard Enable SSH by just placing an empty file called ssh in partition you see on your MAC... (credentials for SSH are user: pi password: raspberry) Alternate: enable SSH via RetroPie Menu (graphic interface) > got to Raspi-Config > Select 5 Interface Options > Select P2: SSH

I had this once before, and it was to do with rasbian disabling ssh until I had changed the password (in fact I think it came up with a prompt to that effect on the console).

Also, if you are using a multiband wireless router, some (notably BT Home Hubs amongst others) do not allow traffic to cross from 5G to 2.4G network or vice versa, but allow both networks to the internet, they are treated as if they were 2 separate internal networks.
