@silentq for every system i play, i use all the systems original controllers so for me that would not work.

If the first start is slow and it isn't your NAS - then try to use subfolders for the ROMS. I made a test with RetroPie 2.3 in former times.
10.000 ROMS for 3 systems, and the Pi was up (from the terminal to a manuel starting ES) in 7 seconds

I put 18.500 ROMS to annother system (so 28.500 files in total), new the Pi needed 2minutes and 50seconds to start the ES from the terminal bash.

I divvided the roms in Subfolders A-Z and every subfolder was marked as a new system the starting time was 28 seconds :)

Some classics, I will definitely check the conversions out. I have a soft spot for the C64 that was smack dab in the middle of my adolescence. My brother was more of a console guy so I do remember hanging at his place playing NES, SNES and the N64. Castlevania was a big one for me on the 64 but there's still something wrong with the overlays or something in emulation at the start but it's plenty playable.

I agree there's something to say about simpler times, simpler graphics & just simpler game play that works for me to this day. I suppose it's more tied to my youth and the guys I hung out with playing than the actual game, probably both, but either way I still get a lot of enjoyment out of the simple plain blocks & shapes of some of those games back in the day. I sure miss arcades. :)

For the end user is imho the best solution the implementation of WPS into RetroPie. But afaik WPS does not work with the build in RPi3 chipset so it would be a feature for the RPi 0+1+2 only :(

@dankcushions Do we think the Dreamcast Raw Data tab has corrupted test details? If we revert to a single sheet with the Pi model columns I could quickly do a vlookup to bring in the existing values and notes.

@herb_fargus Sorry, I have no clue - I don't see any XCom port in the pi-extra script (or is the readme not up to date??)

@ezelkow1 we don't maintain the kernel, it's packaged with the Raspbian image which is still on 4.4 so maybe in a few years ;)

@edmaul69 indeed! but actually, there is no "start" in that sequence. When researching the Konami code I found that the start button was added to some games, but not all, so I opted to leave it out.

There was an error in the Makefile and I've just fixed it. If you failed to compile it before, you can try again now.

Now say someone wants to use RetroArch's functionality for override config files... Haha, only joking. I don't really want to go down that road, but if anyone is curious there is yet another way to manage configs in RetroArch called override files. I won't even pretend to understand the behavior when trying to use those in RetroPie, but I know some people use them on other platforms.

For override files, I believe you just put whatever changes to settings you want in there, and it will override those specific settings in the global config settings on a per emulator basis. This sound remarkably a lot like the way RetroPie manages configs!

I have been dying to try this controller, but don't have a lot of interest in Steam. If the RetroPie team chose to integrate this as an optional install, the GTK3 GUI almost certainly wouldn't make the cut. Even if they don't choose to integrate it directly, installation of the driver should be pretty easy. Either way, this looks to be an extremely promising option for anyone looking to use this controller. Thanks for the link. I'm kind of excited about trying this now.
