@Arcuza i thought loadstate was on the direction pad by default? I disabled them so i cant verify by looking at my settings.

I bought a bluetooth dongle and after testing and playing the whole weekend, finally, no crashes or weird exits on emulators.

First of all, I had to edit /boot/config.txt with nano and add dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt at the end of the file, with this disable bluetooth on board, save the file and then turn off Retropie.

Then, I connected the bluetooth dongle, turn on retropie and add the controller to Retropie as wiki says https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-a-Bluetooth-controller

finally got something running - installed for xbox360 controller but can't seem to use it with pacman or bombjack. more googling!

via SSH:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo reboot

then i update the retropie-setup script and install the gamecon driver over the menu...

I contacted Andy at Ultimarc and he sent me a new firmware but he is frustrated by requests as he says there is a bug in Retropie that prevents the device from being detected as a keyboard during auto configure. I haven't updated mine yet as it's working based on my above order of connection. However, you will get messages that say ipac not configured which is ok if you want gamepads too. I think I stumbled on this solution but it works for my requirements.

This is an issue that has plagued retropie since release and seems to be the elephant in the room no-one wants to talk about or address

I have a Samsung Smart TV and have no problem with sound, I also know people with Sony Brands that can't get sound...

I had to add this to the /boot/config.txt/ for audio to work on my tv:

hdmi_force_edie_audio=1

If that doesnt work try uncommenting:

hdmi_drive=2

Please note they both cant be running at the same time. You have to comment out one when you run the other
