There is this project that is building the gamelist and art based on the output of my scraper and other sources https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-gamelists It requires that things are named like no-intro set.

Another option is to run my scraper from another system and just copy over the gamelist and images. I make versions available for almost everything (I don't have FreeBSD but now that I'm running that I may add it)

    You can download here:
    https://github.com/sselph/scraper/releases

And the basic instructions are unzip the zip and place the scraper executable in the rom folder and from a command line change directory to the rom folder and run ./scraper or scraper.exe on windows. That will create a gamelist.xml and images folder that you can copy over.

@ruxton_bruce I'm glad you have it sorted out. I've opened an issue to track adding a check for bin files named the same as the cue. I imagine that it is common enough that the emulator handles it. https://github.com/sselph/scraper/issues/100

@vretro can mount /tmp on tmpfs. If we did that by default there would be out of memory issues

ok. there is no cheaper way to get a few more USB devices onto the zero? I do not know why the first controller connected to the hub works, but the others don't. have I misconfigured retropie?!

@challenger2010 Yeah and even on Dragons Lair 2 the overlays go away after you get past the first level. After that you only get the visual queues just like in DL1 and Space Ace.

@caver01 Actually, What I needed was very simple. I had recently soft modded my 3ds but couldn't find anywhere on how to edit specific roms. I wanted to view vertical roms horizontally.

However in the future I may look into making a mame system with a RP3. Thanks for the help I'm trying this out today

I installed Retropie 4.0 rc1 and DS4 goes a little better, it reacts fasters, but sometimes it continues pressing random buttons, so i decided to just use DS3 controllers, you have to pair it with an usb cable but it goes perfect, maybe the best controller for rasp. I think DS4 drivers have to be improved, just be patience.

@meleu well, the original controller i use, is a custom coded teensy in a gameboy project im making
I'm trying to set everything up, before i stick my pi zero in the case. the code i use for the gameboy custom controller, uses the d-pad as hat switch, and for some odd reason, the non lr emulators, wont detect my d-pad presses, but they will detect all my other buttons (a,b,select start). so, i decided to put that on hold, and look into the lr emulators, and started with gpsp... and thats where i came across the issue, with swapping controllers. initially, i spent days and hours, trying to get mame4all (non lr) to detect my dpad/hat switch and it wouldnt, and that mame4all runs games the fastest/smoothest for me.

I would have 8 buttons (ABXYLR Start Select) plus joystick for each player.

I only use libretro cores so all extra functions like quit or menu are done by hotkeys as described at:

    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration#default-joypad-hotkeys

@rbaker Thanks. I haven't got my Pi yet but if v4 is on the way, I might grab v3 before it gets removed.
