    Theres potentially a few issues there (mainly with the way you have used RGUI to save your nes config). I would be sorely tempted to start again with a fresh image.
    If you really dont want to, a bodgy way to get your other systems to work the same way would be to copy your nes retroarch file across to them.

    Backup before you try this, but it would be along the lines of
    sudo cp /opt/retropie/configs/nes/retroarch.cfg /opt/retropie/configs/snes/retroarch.cfg

  • HELP! Using both Xin-Mo and USB gamepads

    @GreenHawk84

    My cabinet will be at my office and I know many retro console purists will want to play their games with gamepads and not aracede joysticks and buttons.

    eg. Mario Kart SNES you need the shoulder buttons on the gamepad. It would be hard to play Mario Kart SNES with the arcade controls.

    Any help to get both the xin-mo and usb gamepads configured to work so a user can choose their preference would be awesome.

    @theroamer I see what you mean.

    I was thinking that there might be a more elegant graphically nice way to do this. For instance on the Emulation Station Menu there are graphical representations of each system. To have it so that there is a graphical representation of NES USA and then another for NES VS on the home menu select screen.

    Of course as a work around creating folder may be the only option on here for now.

    Thanks again,
    BC

    How can I save in Syphony of the Night (PSX)? I am bored starting all the time from the beginning

    I've been playing the game for the past few weeks and it's been saving as it should for me using the in-game save rooms. However, you can also save your state at any location in lr-pcsx-rearmed by pressing 'Select+Top Right' and restore by pressing 'Select+Top Left'. That will save and restore your save state from the first save state slot. You can change between save state slots, pressing 'Select+DPad Left/Right'.

    @Floob just wanted to let you know I installed the arcade bezels based off your github video manager last night and it worked flawlessly. Thanks for all your work on this and your videos. I noticed some other menu options for console bezels but haven't tried those yet.

    @PaulCheffus I was speaking of the small 3 connector black and red wire that I think is used to power the backlight of the screen. You can see it at the bottom of the screen in the forth image. When reusing screens from laptops a separate power converter is needed to light the screen. I may be wrong about this screen. I think this screen is LED backlight and may work.

    OK. I just found a Youtube vid that shows the backlight power connects to the controller board. No additional hardware is needed. Sorry if I lead you on the wrong path! :-)

    @vonzip first thing is you need to press button 0. Whichever but this is wired to is the button needed for it. If you have more than 1 controller the linuxy stuff like that may not see the same controller as "first controller" as the one you are using as player one. And also you can go into retropie settings and choose run command. You may have disabled the joystick in there.

    @RetroPieNerd i am not sure which a/v cable you are using but the xbox 360 slim a/v cables are actually the correct colors. Well for me anyways.

    @Sinistar83 mine are in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads I saw there was 2 Playstation ones setup after the change and one had some pretty funky data in it so I deleted it and that fixed it. I did make a change in es_input.cfg in the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation file where I removed everything involving the Playstation 3 Controller configuration but I am not exactly sure what that did if anybody would like to shed some light? It never populated back that data once I set my controller back up and it appears all the autoconfigs globally pull from /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads. So its a mystery to me what es_input.cfg even does because my PS3 controllers seem to work fine in emulationstation without it.

    @mediamogul im making a theme for myself, but when i finish the logos i will post them. i think your low rez theme or even pixel would be good with them. its a huge job doing 1 pixel at a time but im planning on being done within the next two weeks with the logos i use. i am keeping a few of the ones you have in your pixel theme im using but fixing anything resizing messed up. im hoping others can benefit from these because there arent too many people crazy enough to take on such a huge task but might be more appropriate for some themes.

    @RickyEarl

    Okay I guess I did get 2 controllers working at the same time!

    I'm not exactly sure how I did it but here's what I think did it.

    The red text are what I typed in the command prompt at the $ sign prompt.
    The black blocks are the code inside the files that I edited with these changes.
    If any of these nano commands won't let you save your changes, make sure to add sudo in front of them.

    nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg

    reicast_input = 0

    nano /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/mappings/controller_XboxGamepad\(userspacedriver\).cfg

    [emulator] mapping_name = Xbox Gamepad (userspace driver) btn_escape = 316 [dreamcast] btn_a = 304 btn_b = 305 btn_c = btn_d = btn_x = 307 btn_y = 308 btn_z = btn_start = 315 btn_dpad1_left = btn_dpad1_right = btn_dpad1_up = btn_dpad1_down = btn_dpad2_left = btn_dpad2_right = btn_dpad2_up = btn_dpad2_down = axis_x = 0 axis_y = 1 axis_trigger_left = 10 axis_trigger_right = 9 [compat] btn_trigger_left = 312 btn_trigger_right = 313 axis_dpad1_x = 16 axis_dpad1_y = 17 axis_dpad2_x = 3 axis_dpad2_y = 4 axis_x_inverted = no axis_y_inverted = no axis_trigger_left_inverted = axis_trigger_right_inverted = axis_dpad1_y_inverted = no axis_dpad1_x_inverted = no

    nano /home/pi/.reicast/emu.cfg

    [input] evdev_device_id_1 = 8 evdev_device_id_2 = 9 evdev_device_id_3 = -1 evdev_device_id_4 = -1 evdev_mapping_1 = /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/mappings/controller_XboxGamepad(userspacedriver).cfg evdev_mapping_2 = /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/mappings/controller_XboxGamepad(userspacedriver).cfg joystick_device_id = -1 [players] nb = 2

    Now I have 2 wireless Xbox 360 controllers working at the same time. I should note that I also have a USB keyboard and mouse plugged into my Pi so your evdev_device_id_1 & 2 numbers might be different than mine. Without those it might be 6 & 7 instead. To find out you just run evtest at the command prompt this should show you what numbers are actually needed.
