It's funny to think there was a time where people lived in constant fear that any internet link might result in being inundated with the silky smooth stylings of what looked to be a mid-nineties Nickelodeon game show host.

@kahelmaz said in MAME games intermittently won't respond after switching to a new game:

It seems to be something in the handoff between ES and MAME that's happening inconsistently where another terminal session gets activated and "steals" the input, but I just have no idea what to do about it...

Hmm, there is another guy on the forums that might possibly chime in some feedback. He does use an IPAC4 and is extremely adept with AdvMAME. If it's an operational problem vs. something unique to your particular setup causing the issue he has probably seen it.

The garbage characters I see are entered into the login user field, as if the joystick is "typing" into the login user field.

The characters I see aren't in the user login field but I thought I would put that information out there in case there was any correlation or some revelation as to the fix. The answer always comes when I set it aside and I am doing something else.

Awesome, thank you for this, I'm keeping my eye on you guys lol... nothing creepy ;-)

Have you seen a way to change the screenshot directory? It's currently set to:

    /home/pi/

This is also where a blank copy of linapple.conf is, can we get rid of that now that it's updated to the latest version?

I have updated retropie through the menu, but still having the same issues.

5v - 2.5,its the one that came with my retropie kit when I bought it.

No, I haven't touched those files. At least not that I'm aware of.

Ok update for everyone, I made a last ditch attempt by using FileZilla and it worked straight away. Not too sure why Finder and Cyberduck couldn't work but all good now. Thanks.

@dudleydes yeah i got it working. I had to chown the /home/pi/roms folder back to pi owner and from there i got wolfenstein full version working great. I did have to google to learn about the lowercase. Now my next thing when i wake up will be to work on hexen series and chex quest.

I use several of these zero delay boards. It should just work. Plug it into a PC and see if it works there. If it does not show up on the pc, it may be defective.

Turns out that there is an issue with the DIY install for the latest versions of the Raspbian and Ada fruit are looking into it.

I'll have to get by on the older version they have in the pre-made Wheezy image for the time being.
