Thank you for your answer. Actually I played a bit with retroarch.cfg, with someof the controllers pluged in in differents usb port and it seems to work now ! Not exactly sure what really made it work though :)

@iandaemon one option might be to use one of these atari flashback joysticks. Haven't tested myself but it supports the extra buttons youd need

@alrotem said in Joystick orientation swaps:

I am pretty sure, this can be resolved by meddling with the configurations/scripts, but I suspect it would be too much work, and overkill, rather than take 10 minutes and just make sure one controller set is identical to the other.

Not quite, since the names of the gamepads (P1/P2) are identical and the configuration file governing both is the same (it's created based on the device name). The approach suggested by @grant2258 is the correct one - there's just one configuration for both controllers, so making them work similarly is the best solution.

@fallen86 I'm in the middle of a rebuild or I would send you my config to help. I learned my lessons about backup the hard way. It's been a while and I did use joystick selection tool, but I rarely played 2 player games the way you are. My biggest concern was mapping a specific USB controller to each game.
I have a feeling the problem is with the driver for you, because the tansktick functions as a keyboard and the driver is working around that to emulate a USB gamepad. Good news is if that doesn't help solve the problem, it's easy to roll back to the driver.
