      @mitu ok I can confirm that I am a dumb dumb haha… I actually have an pi3, for some reason I thought I had a pi4 which is why I was selecting the pi4 image. It now worked by selecting the correct image.

      Thanks again for the reply. I’m going to leave this here so others can learn from my stupidity haha

      Ok

      for a reason that i don't understand, all my rom working using mame2000 emulator.

      Maybe my old raspberry 1 b is not enough powerful for the mame4all emulator ...

      So if it could help someone to have this info...

      @roadhog i believe the ^[[D or ^[[C spam occurs when you press controller buttons/keyboard whilst I compile is in progress. it's harmless but i would just leave the system well alone, unless you want to cancel (then ctrl+c).

      @mitu Thanks but it seems my issue fixed.
      I just backup all my roms and bios and format the sd card and reinstall the latest retropie.

      Thanks for helping me... This issue is solve by backing up my roms and bios and reinstall the latest retropie image.

      @dankcushions I don't think I've done any config changes related to the functionality of the hotkey combo.
      If you start a game using Mame 2003 and press F4 (show gfx) then you get the screen I showed in my first post. I tested it just now and the hotkey combination to exit doesn't work.
