I have been setting up my Pi2 for almost a year now and it's been quite a bumpy but rewarding ride. Bumpy because I'm not remotely tech-savy and know diddly-squat about Linux, but rewarding for the experience in itself: building the romsets, configuring emulators, choosing ES themes and now scraping roms... seeing it all come together as something that I could only dream of as a teenager is truly heartwarming.

Very soon it will be finally ready to simply plug and play! :)

So EasyHax pointed out to me that any gamelist.xml file in the roms directory will override the one in the .emulationstation/gamelists/ directories. Sure enough I found a 0 byte gamelist.xml file in the snes roms directory. It HAD to be something this simple...

I wonder if I was able to make a list of the games I need the USA region art for that maybe someone could make me a zip?

Although not the correct way, I did figure out how to get the best of both worlds. After generating the gamelist.xml using UXS, I edited the file and removed all the <name> tags. The result - I have the original names that I'm used to AND I have snaps/descriptions for all the games (mame)

A fresh install of UXMLS seems to have solved the problem :-)
