    For detailed instructions on setting the Boot Options to boot to the console rather than the desktop, please see:

    Hi, thanks for reply.

    Yes i did a mistake an bought wrong screen, i dont know what happen, usually im checking out very carefully before ordering, but this time i screwed it up.
    But i hoped there would be a possibility to connect this to a Pi.
    But i can see now that it can be difficult to find out the correct wiring.

    Guess i have to buy another one for my Gameboy pocket retropie project.

    The question is, are there anyone who have any good exprience with a 2.4 - 2.8 gpio tft screen for gaming with retropie?

    @brenthunter2005 you can pipe output to another console. but i find it better to output to a logfile to review at leisure anyway as sometimes stdout/stderr is not updated and then when the process is killed all the remaining data is only then written. or maybe it's because I am viewing and logging, then again I am a newbietoallthislinuxiethings.

    The QuadStick has a joystick, four sip & puff sensors and a lip position sensor, connected to a 32-bit ARM processor that converts the sensor inputs into USB and Bluetooth signals for PC's & Game consoles.

    as long as the onboard controller outputs to usb, i would say it should work with retropie. but yeah, you'd rest easier getting an affirmative direct from QuadStick.

    @j3g g'luck and game on!

    I'll pose this question to the user group as well to see what is said, but like you said it should work and I would feel much better about it with a more certain answer. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

    @herb_fargus hmm .. I found those threads, too .. but I actually understood that frotz does indeed support graphics (at least in the windows version). The first one talks about the fact that frotz ignores the resolution from the settings and just displays the graphics unscaled.
    "Peering into the source code a bit, it seems that it does some scaling for Infocom's z6 games, but otherwise just displays all pictures at a 1:1 scale".

    But if you both agree that the Retropie Frotz works only on the terminal I will accept that (which kind of makes sense for an IF interpreter) :)
    Thanks a lot for your help and keep up the great work

    I have a pi2. It will not display on one tv in the house but works on others. The one it will not display on is a Samsung model # 32C4000. Does anyone know why it will not display on this tv but works on any other i have tried?

    well, seems your samsung does support hdmi@ 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p according to the specs. Maybe but should not be inaccurate EDID so no idea why it's not working for you. I assume all your other displays are hdmi.

    for starters you could try forcing hdmi and then tweak from there.

    go to command line on your pi2 and type;

    sudo nano /boot/config.txt
    then right at the bottom enter
    hdmi_force_hotplug=1
    then ctrl+x then y then enter to save.

    test on your display and see if that works first.

    if not try "safe mode" to try to boot with maximum compatibility this time by entering;
    hdmi_safe=1

    @mrbwa1 Hi, Thank you for your support. No, neither FTP or SSH is working. Strangely it works when accessing my NAS, so there's no firewall rules that could stop (I'm accessing from my WLAN to my LAN)

    @JosepZ read the documentation: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Virtual-Gamepad

    It's a novelty though - there are plenty of cheap snes USB controllers online. I highly recommend having at least one physical controller

    If it's any encouragement there is currently more active development on mehstation than there is with emulationstation

    It's good news for sure, looks like a great frontend. Hope it makes it's way to RetroPie at some point. :)
    Thanks for the quick replys Herb.

    IT WORKS!

    I went back to using a configuration file (the same one I posted earlier, I'd backed it up to a folder outside the pi) and used the hotkey configs that Floob had mentioned in his post, and it works! Emulator quitting and all.

    Thank you all kindly for your help and support.

    @JoargTheBard

    Unfortunately this won't work with the simple-dark theme currently, because the genesis and megadrive themes contain exactly the same images as I mentioned above. If you change es_systems.cfg you will just get the same images on that theme. Not the case for other themes though, which do have different megadrive and genesis imagery.

    @jmebd said in Can't get Kodi to run with Retropie 3.7:

    I ended up ssh'ing into mine and "sudo apt-get remove kodi" then "sudo apt-get update", "sudo apt-get upgrade" then finally "sudo apt-get install kodi" and it finally let me boot to kodi but had that move to the left ordeal going on still with the kodi dashboard and freaking out acting like it exited out of kodi and reloaded it. Played wack-a-mole with a keyboard holding down the right cursor until I could get it timed right to push cursor down and was able to get into settings, input, and disabling the "joystick and gamepad" entry in kodi and now it's acting fine....just not with the 360 controller......BUT....I never did any manual keymapping (editing anything to set what keys did what because I didn't understand all of that yet).

    So, the stuff above able to actually let me and others use the 360 controllers without any crazyness going on now?

    Move your /home/pi/.kodi folder to "start fresh" and see if it isn't any problem with your current settings.

    Also the problem with XBOX 360 controllers was already fixed. You just need to reinstall Kodi via the Experimental Menu.
