    Aha! It is the non-LR mupen emulator then. It always takes me 2 tries to get that to compile for some reason. I will give it another shot tonight.

    As for OC, I'm done with OC on the RPi3 for now. I have tried everything and none of them were as stable as the vanilla clock speed. I may revisit it once I give the above a shot again. Thank you for your hard work, videos and contributions to this community. I subscribed to your channel.

    Hopefully I'll finish it! I'm still a little skeptical everything is going to work out as planned, but so far so good.

    you are just seeing the end of the boot sequence. Depends on speed of sdcard etc how quickly the machine boots, but the splash is on a timer.

    @tdodm

    These emulators are not 100% cycle-accurate, but they're pretty darn close. Outside of a regional rom issue, any change in timing would be almost imperceivable. Also, if there was a speed shift, you would notice a change in the music and basic game play as well.

    My version of scph5500.bin has the correct MD5 checksum of 8dd7d5296a650fac7319bce665a6a53c and the CRC32 checksom of ff3eeb8c

    I think it might be a filename issue. I'll experiment with added a dash in it like scph-5500.bin

    Edit:
    I've tried many filename cases but non seam to work when trying to play Japanese games but I did find out that it really doesn't matter what case the BIOS files are to play the US games and also worked with just about every BIOS version (US games playing with any J, E and U BIOS files 10x, 100x, 300x, 350x, 500x, 550x, 700x and 750x). Some US games will even play without a BIOS file but it gives a quick message stating "no BIOS found, expect bugs!"

    I'm testing with 2 Japanese games: Captian Commando and Nekketsu Oyako. Maybe neither one of these work with the emulator.

    Does anyone out there have any Japanese games working and which one(s) did you get working?

    I don't know what your setup is so I'll assume it's exactly the same as mine. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

    In your retroarch-core-options.cfg file, what are your below settings showing? Mine are set to the following. These are all default though so I don't know why yours would be different.

    gambatte_gb_colorization = "disabled"
    gambatte_gb_internal_palette = "GBC - Blue"
    gambatte_gbc_color_correction = "enabled"
    gambatte_gb_hwmode = "Auto"

    I have modified the configure script for advancemame to avoid this. In general configs are not overwritten, but there may be a few cases we missed with older emulators.

    @hansolo Just wondering if you found a solution to your problem? Basically I want to have multiple controllers plugged in as player 1 so if I don't like the controller I'm using I can just grab another one as I'm playing a game. Thanks.

    @thrussmeister
    With arcade games, there are a variety of resolutions and aspect ratios to consider, making bezel overlays a difficult choice unless you run on a per rom basis, and use overlays like this:
    http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5085
    Although I suppose you could just use a non-bezel based 1080p overlay to cover the lot, like this style Scanlines_4x_1080p_Borderless.cfg.

    So instead try using a shader, you can apply using

    video_shader = /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/shader/crt-pi.glslp video_shader_enable = true

    in the emulator/system based retroarch.cfg

    Yes, like the other have replied...we need to know which emulator you're referring to in order to answer that question. If it's one such as for the PSP or Playstation that you've copied both .bin & .cue files into the folder there will indeed be duplicate listings. I think it best you have a look at the WIKI on github for First Run Install for retropie which lists all the emulators supported.....read thru all that stuff and you'll be able to have a better understanding of what you've got.

    After applying all the aforementioned updates and even some recipes combining a mix of them, I still get freezes on psx games as soon as i disconnect the usb cable and go all the way wireless. The rest of the setup seem to work fine. :/

    Thanks for your advise. What I'm trying to archieve it to see the EmulationStation on my laptop screen via ethernet. I don't think that is possible. I tried a vncserver and when i connected with the viewer there was just a grey screen.

    I think that's impossible too. I think you need a Desktop Environment for that. And RetroPie has none per default. You might try installin LXDE though. I instaled RetroPie on top of Raspbian and Raspbian comes w/ LXDE per default. If I were you I wouldn't invest much time in it though.

    Personally, I would encourage yoU to retype it in. It'll help you understand what you're doing, which is always useful, especially if you have to troubleshoot stuff down the line!

    Hi

    It can be sensitive to the correct BIOs, try getting hold of the BIOS from a different source and try that, most times that is the issue "wrong or bad Bios image"

    Cheers
