@herb_fargus The micro sd is new as of today after exchanging the previous one, so I'd hope that's not the problem. Seems the hd cable works with my consoles, too. Thanks for the suggestions, though. I might have to chalk it up to the power supply.

So you have to controllers with the same name? I'd imagine you could use the Input SDL lines in /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg in this case.

[Input-SDL-Control2] # Mupen64Plus SDL Input Plugin config parameter version number. Please don't change this version number. version = 2 # Controller configuration mode: 0=Fully Manual, 1=Auto with named SDL Device, 2=Fully automatic mode = 2

Try setting section Control1 and Control2 mode to 1, then type in the name of the controller here

    # SDL joystick name (or Keyboard) name = "Logitech Gamepad F310"

Worst case, that doesn't work, you could try Fully Manual and copy the contents of a working SDL Control1 section to the SDL Control2 Section

    I learned the lesson too.

I did a clean reinstall of raspbian jessi and started from 0. Now I had no issues installing or starting emulation station.

But I have a problem with my gamepad, that I can´t fix after several hours reading, reinstalling all again , etc.

I can read "1 gamepad detected" on emulation station, but when I press a button for configure, nothing happens.

lsubs command show me my logitech rummblepas 2 is detected too. I don´t know what more to do.

Even tried with a wired PS3 gamepad, and is the same, it is detected, but nothing happens when a button is pressed.

Yup, that was it... wrong ROMset. I didn't realize this is MAME version from 2000... but it works great now.

    Thanks for the help.

In my case this fixed the problem:

Open the command line of the Retropie system (locally or via SSH) Type "sudo smbpasswd -a pi", and then enter the password again ("raspberry" if you did not change the default)

After doing this, the Mac can connect using the user "pi". Anonymous access still shows an error, though. I think the upgrade of Samba did reset some configuration settings.

SUCCESS!!! Thank you so much! i never would have found that on my own! i am having one other issue though. it works fine if i just have the four controllers in the mix, but if i plug a keyboard in, it too takes presidence over the bluetooth controllers in the index list and bumps them down to js3 and js4 instead of js2 and js3 like i have in the .cfg file, even though i dont have the keyboard setup for controls. i was wondering if there is any way in the core config files of the pi to force a controller to take a certain index when connected. it would solve a lot of the issues im having with some of the other emu's and ports as well. again any help is much appreciated

Go into /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg and change mupen64plus_hotkeys to 0. That will stop it from writing over your custom edits.

@phillymadison go to configs/all and delete your videomodes.cfg, should reset your video modes for each emulator. Dont worry the file will regenerate if you change any video modes.
As far as the launch menu https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/runcommand

you can configure the run command from the retropie options. Its called run command editor. You want to enable launch menu.
