      This is the process I followed for that. I don’t see how this could be related but just in case.

      No, it's not related. Alas, I don't have any ideas - try using aptitude instead of apt, it's worth a shot.

      Try to run these commands separately:

      sudo apt-get remove --purge lxde*

      sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

      sudo apt-get autoremove

      reboot

      The default virtual keyboard (matchbox-keyboard) has an issue where the desktop becomes unresponsive while the keyboard is open, so use xvkbd instead. I'll edit this post with instructions later

      I updated the FAQ page thanks for the heads up. though if you had looked through a few more options you would have found it ;)

      Haha, I found the option last night right after I decided to go ahead and run the manual apt-get commands. Looks like everything's in working order and I've got LMMS running in Pixel. Thanks bro! ^_^

      After I disabled the splashscreen the problem was solved. I tried both option autostart from raspi-config and the retropie-setup. The problem was the splashscreen. Thanks.

      I don't think it's a problem from RetroPie, it's just that when upgrading packages, it's from the latest from Raspbian, so an update probably broke something, when earlier it worked correctly.
