@bc320 said in Pi4 and libreELEC:

Is there a way to set up my pi so when I boot I can choose LibreElec and Kodi OR Retropie?

Using something like NOOBS or PINN could help you install multiple systems on the same sdcard.

is there an easy way to move between the 2?

Apart from using separate cards, try option 1.

if I am able to get a wireless/bluetooth controller to work with retropie will it work with LibreElec?

I don't know, if it has bluetooth support built in, then it should work.

@AmigaMoreThanCLi If this is the StarTech.com USB to M.2 SATA Converter, it only supports SATA M.2 drives.

Samsung EVO 970 Plus is an NVMe drive. It will never work in this board. You need a SATA M.2 drive.

@RonsterMonster There is no official image. At the moment, you can clone the repo, but it's different from what ETA Prime did.

Install raspbian lite. Install Git. Then type: git clone --branch fkms_rpi4 --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git
Enable the GL (Fake KMS) driver in raspi-config

If you're not familiar with a manual install, go here: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Manual-Installation

I'd really hope for test images soon. Basically all the libretro emulators work. The rest are hit or miss.

I have recently noticed that Flycast allows the internal resolution to be increased on Dreamcast games. Has anyone experimented with that on the Pi4

Is there a Flycast core that can emulate WinCE games? If so what is the current experience with that on a Pi4?

Finally i found a really easy solution We Just need to press

Ctrl+Alt+F2, login, then write emulationstation, to go back Quit Emulationstation and press Ctrl+Alt+F1.

The mouse works like a charm in atomiswave and mame, just put the game, go to Retroarch, Quick menu, Settings, Input p1, Move the mouse Index and the mouse to see it, no need udev nothing! Just that. I try to logout but now Raspberry pi OS have a Login Graphical screen, so we can't logout and run emulationstation just from a desktop Shortcut. But is a solution to shoot in games.

@gordonfreemanjr retropie isn't compatible with the pi 4 yet and the few emulators that people have gotten running are probably not well optimized yet to draw any final conclusions. I'm afraid no one can really answer your questions yet because the pi 4 is so new. For now, unless you have some programming knowledge that allows you to test stuff out yourself, you'll have to wait and see.

no$gba or something similar had 3ds support on windows, and it works suprisingly well with the mouse as how to access the touchscreen, im sure similar on pi4 would be easily possible from a tech point of view, but from a power point of view im not sure.

Yeah, I remember Upton doing a few interviews back in 2017, and he said they were looking at a 2019 release for the Pi 4.
So, like Mitu said, he's either trolling, or they've hit some problems.
