@bidinou video_smooth or a shader could still be used in pcsx's 'hd' mode. or you could turn on per-game core options and only turn on enchanced resolution for 3D games, and create per-game cfgs for the 2d ones turning on shaders, etc.

@Cole_48 yeah, the proper arcade version on mame/fba :)

and/or you could try using a shader or turning video smooth on via https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Configuration-Editor

@glennlake I actually do have a few spare hdmi cables. a 6ft and a 3ft. maybe another... I didn't think that would be such an issue, but I'll give that a try and see what happens.

@darthpaul where did you see 5v? that makes me sad. I just can't get lucky. I'm about to give up and just get an official Pi charger. So not fair.

I cherry-picked the fix into our lr-ppsspp fork so if you re-install that from binary/source it should also run without the pauses (tested working here)

Happy belated birthday. "RetroPie cake" even sounds awesome. Like a Dinolord cowboy or Caravan planecycle.

I used a PS2 controller with a cheap adaptor bought from Amazon, works 100% and supports two controllers.

Same here! It has the advantage to use only one usb port for 2 controllers. :-)

I have used this same setup as well. I actually have a Ps1 Dual Analog and Ps2 Dual Analog and they work fine together. Just don't mix a Dual Analog and Non-Analog controller on the dual port adapters. Sometimes things flake out with that setup....

There are a lot of USB pads out there, but all the reproductions (NES/SNES,N64) I have tried are variable quality and don't do well for serious gaming (the controls are all some degree of mushy and the NES clone pad can't really do diagonals without randomly outputting a L/R or Up/Down).

Also, the Playstation controllers have nice long cords and extension cords are cheap: With an extension, I have something like 12 or 15 feet of cord. Also, AFAIK, retropie doesn't support rumble, so the PS1 Dual Analog and the Ps2 Dual Analog are often really cheap to pick up (or a PS2 dualshock that has broken vibration motors).

How fast is the x86 emulation under Wine ? Under DosBox with the dynamic cpu core, I get results which I think are on par with a fast 486. (or early pentium, maybe ? Duke 3D is smooth.)

Contrary to popular belief, heat sinks do very little without airflow. You are a small fan away from never temping past 56 or so C. Here's a link to the post where I describe my setup just a bit. - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/1637/first-time-emulator-console-build-questions/6 Scroll up a bit for a good test video I found.

I'm not overclocked and my idle temps are are around 36 or so degrees C with a game playing ramp up to about 56 or so C.

look at the retropie wiki for psx. dankussion has updated the wiki and a new version of pcsx rearmed is available. you can reinstall by the retropie menu pcsx-rearmed from the github source. and follow the wiki, you can activate the multitap on port 1 and 2.

The Atari 2600 homebrew is the only one I know of and it should run fine on RetroPie.

Edit: You're probably thinking of this...

In answer to your question, this is a windows game, so unless you can get WINE running you're out of luck.
