Listening for input, updating variables, other things... It may still render the screen even when "idle" too. 5% is pretty idle anyway.

I'm not actually that familiar with the ES code base.

Oh aren't I the stupid one.

Completely misunderstanding what 'hardcoded' means in terms of controls.

Guess I just have to wait until they're unhardcoded...

if when you restored your roms, you restored the .sh files in the ports folder, they will no longer be executable. I ran into this problem. Try this at the command prompt:

sudo chmod +x ~/Retropie/roms/ports/*.sh (I'm doing this path from memory, so may be slightly incorrect)

That should make the files executable...

@herb_fargus Awesome, thanks. I knew it had to be something simple. I saw that link you posted before, but I didn't see anything about it being under Menu 3. Thanks again.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see where it says Menu 3 now. Ugh, I can't believe I overlooked that.

First, it sounds like your computer is running windows. Windows can only see the Boot folder because the retropie folder is formated ext3/ext4 and Windows has a hard time reading it(at least Windows 7 does). I can't help you much there. If you can find someone with a linux box you can take your sd card, put it in a reader and insert it into that box and you should be able to see the retropie folder as well.

You could download a raspian image to a separate sd card, boot up your pi with that and use your card reader to open the retropie folder on the RetroPie sd. First copy your new game roms onto the desktop of your new raspian bootup. Then plug in your RetroPie sd in your card reader and you should see the retropie folder. On your RetroPie sd you can mine down thru home, pi, RetroPie, roms and finally to the folder holding the roms for your games. Then you can drag-and-drop your new game roms into their proper place.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips! I want to make the portable console, so I need an small display (to thickness too).
First time I bought the car backup TFT display, but its not delivered, so I refunded and bought this with though it will be better.

To Adafruit things, Im from Slovakia where as student I cant buy things like Adafruit PiTFT, this display from Ali is for me alot expansive, so the PiTFT is insta killer.

Thanks guys for tips, I will try to found something useful :-)

    @BuZz

Ha, now you are making me seriously doubt myself. I swear the .old files had a modified date of when the update took place. If I was imagining this (which it sounds like I was if the code is not set to do this), there is a chance I would have kept a remote copy due to previous tweaks to both files.

I'll just make a mental note to see what happens when I next upgrade, the .old files have been removed now.

    Thanks again.
