It looks very nice and I hope it will be possible to have this in RetroPie. Without being a developer, I think it is unlikely that we will see the latest version of this emulator in RetroPie, because of the minimal requirements set by the developer.

@zemendonca1 in general (as this knowledge can be used for more than just retropie), savestates usually do not transfer between different emulators, or even different versions of the same emulator, for that matter. but in game saves or memory card files typically do. just have to rename them to the proper format of what the other emulator requires.

@windg said in Duckstation - How Do You Load Saved Game Data from Another Game?:

Maybe the issue here is that every save file is a different memory card. Try to use a shared memory card so the system can read the save from the first game.

You can change this setting from RetroArch .

Quick menu > options >Port Settings > change to Share between all games.

I was able to do it.

On Duckstation I went to Settings>Memory Card Settings then for Memory Card Type selected Shared Between All Games. Then I went to Tools>Memory Card Editor and for Memory Card on the left side selected the first Tomba game and on the right side selected Tomba 2. Then I moved the first Tomba saved game file over to the right by pressing >> and clicked Save.

@sirhenrythe5th That's interesting...Aaron never said anything to me about abuse, just that it was increasingly difficult to split his time between shepherding MAME and work obligations.

@mitu Weird, I wonder why it does that? Is there a way for Duckstation to not change the audio?

@rhester72 personally speaking, i think what is permissible under the GPL shouldn’t encourage us to cause offence or burn out to volunteer developers. i don’t think setting projects against each other was really the intention of lt.

ultimately standalone exists, pcsx_rearmed exists (and has had quite a lot of fixes lately and 64-bit support so i’m looking forward to revisiting it). it’s not so important.

the lr-duckstation core has now been removed so i will lock this thread.

@george-spiggott said in General Duckstation discussion:

Has anyone succeeded at running any games at 2x resolution at a reasonable speed? Even on an overclocked Pi4 doesn't seem up to this. This is certainly an emulator that will grow in usefulness as the capability of Raspberry Pis increase although I think I will probably stick with PCSX Rearmed in the short term.

I have been running a few games (spyro, ff1/2, crash bandicoot, ONE) at 4x res, with 32x msaa at over full speed (Vulkan hardware rendering). My pi4 is overclocked, but pretty much stock RetroPie.

@wmarcio the github has both build instructions and
pre-built binaries. if you're running linux mint then you're sorted - just get the linux binary.
