If editing files around is not something you're familiar, then my suggestion is to find a system with a bit more performance and has the righ GPU. Even if you'd manage to get EmulationStation working, other programs/emulators might have similar requirements and you'd be struggling to make it work.
No. I use a True Type font. The gamelist font on my theme has some screen tearing. Some extra dots by some letters. On my Windows ES there is no problem. V-sync? Use of SVG? VRAM? Use of other font? Changed it all?
Btw. RetroPie is on a Ubuntu PC with a NVidia card.
I will send a photo from the thing. Hope somebody had a similar problem with the solution.
