      @mitu as general feedback.....

      On my "new" VM40B retropie setup (Ubuntu 22.04-1) now also obtain this issue......... workaround also here to modify the controller cfg to obtain RGUI open whit HOTKEY+SELECT button instead using HOTKEY + Nord Button :)

      @sad_muso I would add, that it's better imho to edit the global file manually or via the RetroPie menu -> configuration editor (which has some of the settings but allows manual editing also)

      Reason being that saving out from retroarch saves every possible setting. All config file "comments" will be lost, and it's a lot of config entries. It won't be easy to know what you have changed if you ever need to check.

      But of course you can choose the method you prefer.

      Looks like an error starting it, can you post the /dev/shm/runcomand.log file contents ?
      Also, please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

      Brill, thanks very much!

      So I removed the following lines from /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/Logitech Gamepad F710.cfg:

      input_load_state_btn = "4" input_exit_emulator_btn = "7" input_save_state_btn = "5" input_state_slot_increase_btn = "h0right" input_state_slot_decrease_btn = "h0left" input_reset_btn = "0" input_enable_hotkey_btn = "8"

      and then made sure that that the next line was correctly mapped to my Logitech button (in my case 8):

      input_menu_toggle_btn = "8"

      A quick test suggests that it's working great :)

      Thanks @BuZz i have update NP2PI and LR-Hatari without any problem.
      Do you write to not use lr-hatari because the original hatari emulator is better like ever ?

      I always have my problem with RETROARCH :(

      You are real for the SHADER directory, it was root access i don't know why ? I have change it for pi.
      But now it is my retroarch.cfg it don't like and crash the update :(

      install -m644 docs/retroarch-cg2glsl.6 /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/share/man/man6 install -m644 media/retroarch.svg /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/share/pixmaps « /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/retroarch/retroarch.cfg » -> « /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/retroarch.cfg » /home/pi /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch /home/pi = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Configuring 'retroarch' : RetroArch - frontend to the libretro emulator cores - required by all lr-* emulators = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = error: bad index file sha1 signature fatal: index file corrupt fatal: Reference has invalid format: 'refs/remotes/origin/rpi ' error: bad index file sha1 signature fatal: index file corrupt error: bad index file sha1 signature fatal: index file corrupt Copying new default configuration to /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg.rp-dist /home/pi Error running 'git pull' - returned 1 Error running 'git submodule update --init --recursive' - returned 1 Log ended at: jeudi 24 août 2017, 14:44:20 (UTC+0200) Total running time: 0 hours, 7 mins, 8 secs

      I try many things but nothing works for me :(
      I read there you write to remove the CONFIG dir and install again RETROARCH but it is impossible, i work so many days on my configs ...
      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9147/default-all-retroarch-cfg

      I have try to remove the retroarch.cfg and expect it will create a new one but it crash too :(
      Maybe if some one can share his file with me, i will use it to update and after i will update settings with mine.

      Thanks

      Looks like you saved the config from inside retroarch. If you are going to use the RGUI to manage the settings, I would do all the configuring in RGUI. Otherwise, I would do it manually, as it's not too easy to manage the config once it has been saved out from retroarch due to the size.

      @callitkarma67 can you please paste here the output of these commands (I wanna make you able to use the joystick-selection tool on the raspi you use the network share ROMs):
      ls -ld /opt/retropie $HOME/RetroPie/retropiemenu
      ls -l $HOME/RetroPie

      @Lyle_JP the first time this issue was reported (2016-01-09) we realized that RetroArch recently changed the default menu driver to xmb when executing on a Raspberry Pi.

      This issue was solved in RetroPie, but since an updating doesn't overwrite the current all/retroarch.cfg, and just creates an retroarch.cfg.rp-dist, I think we'll get some more confused users coming here with this issue after an upgrade soon.

      Fortunately you started a topic with a very descriptive title and I hope they use the search engine to get the solution (menu_driver = "rgui").

      Could you please mark this topic as solved?

      RetroArch bug - https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/3605 (or by design perhaps - but should be changed imho).
