Can i recommend..... An xbox 360 controller. Honestly i would just buy another 360 controller. They are so nice to use. If i didnt have official controllers for all of my systems i would use an official xbox 360 controller. Best feeling controller imo. I have controllers for the first 3 playstation systems and they are nowhere as comfortable as an xbox 360 controller.

I think (1942=Set 1) (1942a=Set 2) & (1942b=Set 3) are just dumped from an alternative arcade chip board. Maybe a revision or something. They probably play the same but a ROM comparison might show some differences.

    Am I missing something?

I don't believe you're missing anything. The game was developed to be played on original hardware and as such, save issues have always been a known problem in emulation to my understanding. This is likely due to the save feature being hacked in. I've always used save states myself, but I have a strict policy of never saving mid-level to retain the full challenge.

Do you mean a Favorites list in EmulationStation? Just like the different system sections?

How has this not been shut down by Nintendo yet? I mean, I don't want it to get shut down, but you know how they are about these things.

At first I thought it might be like Freedoom, for which they've changed the graphics so it's not quite the same, but this appears to be using the same assets.

I hear there is also a hack of Link to the Past which uses the MSU1 and all the tracks have been redone with an actual symphony orchestra in MP3 format.

A fully orchestral Zelda sounds amazing. I'll have to look that up.

@PetroRie Metal Gear Solid isn't my sort of game. I am a sucker for JRPGs. I recently started Wild Arms again, which got stolen waaayyyyy back in my teenage years. Rhapsody is currently on the todo-list as well but it seems like quite a tear jerker from what I gather but the voice acting/singing is just so TOP NOTCH!

EDIT: I did have a PS1, just so many titles I never got to try, so I am catching up!
Oh and just to replay Suikoden 1 and 2 again is worth a Raspberry Pi alone :D

    @Exmix

I got a few games to load, but I never got anything approaching satisfactory performance. I tried every combination of settings I could think of and even experimented with overclocking, as well as testing less demanding games, but my conclusion was that the current RPi3 is just not powerful enough to make this happen.

Chief Arino will have to wait another day.

For anyone interest, instructions for getting ADAM .DDP and .DSK images to load can be found on page-14 of what appears to be the release thread for CoolCV. It's funny that the discussion starts about it's release on OSX and Windows. If you skip forward a few pages, someone makes mention of the Raspberry Pi and a user asks if such talk could be relegated to another thread. Skip forward several more pages and RetroPie integration is almost all people are discussing.

I think it's definitely production costs but also the option to run different systems on different cards, card swapping etc. Could be also hardware failure too, if the internal memory would fail for some reason you would need to buy a new unit but with these sd cards, if it gets broken you just buy a new card for a couple bucks.

Thanks for checking. Well, seeing as it came from the 'Hut in the UK it should be legit. Would have been fishy if all were to be found only in Asia.

Looked for an N64 Controller to work with the pi a while ago and got nowhere.
Shall be getting a couple of these!

Hope they branch out to SEGA and make Megadrive/Genesis ones too
