@iamtyce @DougA I finally managed to solve the problem with an HDMI splitter and an HDMI-to-VGA converter. ๐Ÿ˜„ The latter doesn't change the resolution, but my projector accepts the analog signal in contrast to the digital HDMI signal, which it refused as "unsupported". I just had to adjust the picture a bit via the projector's controls, as it was slightly off to the left and only partly visible.

A mentionable obstacle was that only one out of three HDMI splitters I tried worked with the 1600x1200 pixels DMT signal from the Pi. The other two only accepted CEA signals (see HDMI mode options in the official Raspberry Pi documentation). Strangely enough, all three splitters look exactly the same from outside apart from the brand logo.

This is the splitter that worked:

    And here's the converter:

(Links go to Amazon Germany, but the non-Germans among you may at least learn the brand and model of the devices from them.)

@mitu with regards to the information which you said has the details of requirements to run the roms, is this something that is contained in something like a text file that is in the rom zip or where would i find that information?

Some of the games that I have attempted to scrape artwork for, I haven't been able to find artwork on the site that it uses. I have seen that there are Youtube videos which allow you to create it manually but these seem to involve many steps and I was just wondering if there's an easier way to do it.

You did right the first time, so I don't understand why you're struggling with this :)
By default xmlstarlet just prinnt the result.

There are 2 ways to modify a file :

what I did : put the -L (or --inplace) option : -L (or --inplace) - edit file inplace what you did : redirect the output to the gamelist.xml file with a >

@r3fear that screen is started by Emulationstation, so you cannot use a script to launch it, since it's within the application itself.

@mitu askimet is stupid. I am on my second account on a second email address. I tried to make a simple one sentence response with nothing out of the norm and it said it was flagged as spam and permanently blocked my account from posting. ๐Ÿคจ

@smokingman Iโ€™m sure all versions have that issue. I have the USA version and it also has that bug.

    @chemdream said in Libretro-Mame-Latest (experimental):

I swear I googled this and couldn't find it.

If I installed the experimental package of mame-latest, does that install mame 0.200(or whatever the latest is at the time of reading this) core? Or will it install a different version. I wasn't sure how fast mame releases were turned into cores.

I have the latest updates of RPie/Emulation station on AMD Ryzen, Ubuntu 18.04.1.

    Thanks!

The repository for libretro/mame merges the new MAME code in usually within a week or 2 of a new MAME release.

So the current lr-mame code includes all the mame0.200, changes in mame 0.201 will be added in in about a week or so (ish)

@darksavior said in Exit button AND video options in sorr Streets of Rage Remake?:

So in finding out there's going to be a sor4 and it looks absolutely horrible, I decided to reinstall sorr today. It's an old problem so I'm not sure if anyone's ever figured it out:

In "PC" mode, all video options are available but no Exit button.
In "PSP" mode, most video options are greyed out but it has an Exit button.
I tried the other modes but they don't seem to offer any differences.

Is there a way to have the best of both worlds?

Or @zerojay if you're not too busy, maybe you have a solution. Thanks.

I don't have any solutions. I knew about the PSP switch though but I think it disables multiplayer so I didn't use it.

ok I went and tried that. same issue. however i decided to start everything over and see if I am missing something. I have had the EasyHack Toolkit script work before so I knew there has to be more to this. well long story short. Looks like this was all due to a bad gamelist.xml file. Sorry to waste your time. (atleast i figured it out). :)

@europadecas said in Emulation Station- system selection screen- sporadic missing system pic and info:

Two last questions. What is the default VRAM Limit and by changing the VRAM does it have any impact on the graphics of the gameplay or any effect on the gameplay itself?

I think the default is 80. The MaxVRAM setting affects only Emulationstation, not the games.

@mitu Thanks for the links, I'll have a look and try to figure it out. I don't think it's shaders though as when I go into that menu for either it doesn't say any shaders are set and when I enable one I get serious lag issues. The only difference I could see was the colour palette was different. But when I change that to be the same I only get a very slight green tinge. So I'm a bit stuck on what's causing that ๐Ÿ˜…

    @mitu
-> ok tnx... so if i have correctly understood, it scan the GameDiskFile.img into the game folder were you are, in order to check wich is the correct core bios compatibilities ?
-> it seems to be not creating a playlist, it was scanning my FF9.Disk3.img file, putting the cpu at 100% ... are you shure it was doing that playlist scanning you talk about ?
-> and it is normal that it take a lot of time and cpu resources, and that the scanning process can not be stopped (if you try to do it pcsx rearmed start to crash and reboot at loop, putting cpu at 100% ) ??
-> and Can i have made some damage (physicall hardware or sw data corruption maybe) putting out the power source off my raspyPie during this scan ? ๐Ÿ˜…
(aniway i deleted the game folder, and than i restored the game folder by my pc into the raspyPie' SD via FileZilla, and all work good ) .
-> my retropie was really good setted up... maybe can i have automatically changed some settings stopping the scann and closing the power forcedly ?
