@mad61190 Yes, like I tought. That is your monitor that isn't passing the right info to the Raspberry/Kodi. A fix for that can only be made in Kodi program itself.

Is there needed to config the Controller again to play with the ROMs? I can control everything in Menu but if the ROM is starting than the Controller is not anymore working.

Thank you for all the assistance. I grabbed .78 and I'll use that instead. Any thing (MAMECLR) that you already state is difficult to use is probably NOT worth investing the time in for a one time setup for a quick mess around box attached to the TV. All I really wanted to do with my PI 3 was replace the HUGE 'media center' PC that has been taking up space in the living room with something that might play a couple of games and allow surfing on my slightly older app filled but not 'smart' TV.

Thank you again for the assistance and for all of your work on this project. I may tinker with it later and become proficient, but at this point I just want to plunk down and play some Galaga and Dig Dug. Thanks for the information on how to find out what is installed as default. I appreciate that as well.

You can't because it will not work even if it compiles properly. Use a PC.

I am able to get it working now on Emulation Station but on reboot it needs to be manually discovered again, I wrote the script that finds the MAC address and make sure it found but it does not seem to be working.

I made the correction and was given a prompt for a pin I set it to 0000
It seems to be working fine now

Would that be the only change to make two of the same controllers be found on boot?

@Leo1372 In Kodi -> Settings -> Settings ->Peripherals

Kodi 16 + joysticks was tested in RetroPie 3.6. Keep in mind that if you update the RetroPie-Setup scripts and make a Binary based instalation, you will get the very latest changes to RetroPie, so not the same as installing a clean RetroPie 3.6 image.

Ah brilliant! I really appreciate the information and a huge time saver on future builds. I struggled a bit with understanding the Retroarch inputs/labels are fixed positions on the controllers that can be changed based on the selected inputs used when setting up your devices. I have it straight in my head but I still find it hard to explain. I appreciate this new information and it will be a huge time saver!

I figured it out, i accidently clicked install binaries and it seemed like it was reinstalling retropie, everything is ok now, nothing dissapeared, so no need to transfer everything back again.
