@AtomicGamer said in Cannot Start N64 Games:

@Norstein I get an error that reads "No such file or directory" in the menu where it asked to input my gamepad I pressed f4 to get to the command line by the way

Is this the full error message?
Normally it should tell you: "[file or folder name]: No such file or directory", and that would tell you exactly what you are missing.
Without knowing what file exactly cannot be found, my best guesses here are that either mupen64plus is not installed or the rom file has been deleted or has wrong permissions.

solved, there was no memory in my sd, and filezilla passed the games of a 1kb, that was the reason why they did not work

      @jrb it's a pi 3b+ running v4.5.1
I've used an off brand N64 USB controller, a PS4 controller, and an 8bitdo sn30, all wired.

@retropieuser555 the long and short of it is that framebuffer emulation is required for many games to function properly. There is a performance hit for having it on, but the alternative is that you'll have issues such as yours.

i dont fully understand what you want me to do in the core-options.cfg file..

Well, my idea was to rename it temporarily, thinking that some core options might not get along with your system. Looking at the other log file though, I wonder if something is missing from your system - the EGL library maybe ? Sadly, your system (Vero4k+) is something we deal here very sparsely - it's the first issue in over a year with this configuration.

Try to post some the same info on the OSMC forums, maybe someone there has more experience with your system and the N64 emulator and can figure out what's missing.

I manage to solve the problem by deleting the retroarch.cfg file from the n64 config folder and accessing the games again
      Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 B+
Power supply: Canakit 3.5 V Power supply
System: Pre made OS from the official page Retropie 4.4.4
USB Devices: USB Cable connected to Dualshock 4
      Controller Used: Dualshock 4
Just putting this just in case , but the problem was solved

@mitu I thought it maybe a fake SD card as well with a lower amount of storage than I thought. But I've been installing a lot of more PlayStation 1 games and those are all working fine.

@Ranma Remember to turn off less accurate blending for this game as well. There are visual glitches if its turned on.

@Kentinator there are several threads concerning N64 Emulation with the Pi, but to say it with a few words: your experience nails it.
Mario64, MarioKart64 and a few others work well, a lot of other games do not.

@joaobhering If you disable moonlight, do you still get the crash ? Please fill in the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - especially the emulator and game where you get the crash.

I think I may have found the solution to my problem.
There may be an issue with the Xin-Mo USB controllers.

The Xin-Mo controller that I have has an internal identification as: Xinmotek Xinmotek Dual Controller
In the configuration files sent to me, has it is identified as: Xin-Mo Xin-Mo Dual Arcade

Change the name in the configuration file, appears to solve the problem.
