@Arcuza I don't think that's quite correct. The SD card will have a few partitions on it already. 1 of them is readable by windows, the others are not. The Boot partition should be readable by windows.

@thedoctor916 said in USB Boot with SD Card for RetroPie Partition:

Otherwise I'm not sure ro what you might be refering to.

I was referring to the automatic transfer method, that uses usbmount.

Do you have the 7″ touch display ? You probably had to configure the Pi to use the DSI output my modifying the bootloader configuration (the config.txt file on the boot) partition. To switch back to HDMI, you'll need to remove or comment the lines that enable and configure the LCD.
There might be a way to enable the LCD display only of HDMI is not detected through the use of conditional filters in config.txt, but you'll have to experiment and see if that's possible. If the LCD pannel cannot be detected at boot by the bootloader, then conditionally enabling/disabling it might not work.

While waiting I installed Recall box to try if it works. It's same there.

However... I found old Saitek Pad (PS2700) and it works like a charm. I decided to try xBox Controller via USB and it works like a charm.

Trying to connect via Bluetooth does not work at all. Will try to ssh and play with BT then, maybe console will tell me something.
Since I can't pair my headphones also, I think it might not be pad problem, but bluetooth.

About SteamController. There is problem with mapping of d-pad. It recognizes only swipe in one or 2 directions. Like Analog Left and Analog Up. So its more like Analogue for emulator than D-Pad.
But I think i can pass on stemController if XBox and Saitek works. I'm a fan of D-Pad. Touchpad as D-Pad is not good on SteamController.

Thank you for your reply. That's my standard setting, everything from the Retroarch at the settings. Maybe a re-install can sort it out?

@mitu Sorry, for whatever reason it suddenly started to work. I didn't change anything and it's the same games that I tried before. Weird to say the least. But thank you for your time and help.

Okay, thanks - it could be possible, that I did a setting in RPi setup script by mistake. I played around with that - and maybe did not put it back later. This is a real good advice for my performance issue - thanks

gpu_mem will be fixed, too. Thanks

Edit: Oh holy man! This was the point. I thought it's only a booster for my slow graphics - but it fixed the installation issue! After that modification, I also got the possibility to install RetroArch by binaries (which was not shown before). Now the installation works. Thanks a lot.

@djmoss - I have the exact same setup as you (Pi4, pi2scart, mx7000). I have a couple of problems with overscan. Did you fix this through the config?
If too much OT perhaps we can take it in a pm?

    Thanks! 😊

You can copy the drastic.sh version from that repo to your own RetroPie-Setup installation (overwriting $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators/drastic.sh) and then re-install drastic.
Do note that replacing the scriptmodule with another version will make updating the RetroPie-Setup fail, since you modified the file locally.

@MegaTimX said in Rpi 4, No display on my 3440x1440 monitor, works perfectly on my 4k TV.:

Hopefully in a future update HDMI support for this monitor(resolution?aspect ratio?) for the Rpi4 will be added.

Unless someone reports it upstream, I don't think it will be magincally solved.
Someone reported something similar this last year and for them it has been solved with a firmware update, see https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=248037&start=25.

If the recommendations in that topic won't solve your issue, then I suggest replying to that topic and adding your own monitor EDID for the RPT engineers to check it.

if its available for rpi4 try installing drastic-ds youll need a keyboard connected to my knowlage to correctly map the inputs the first time round but it runs brilliantly even on a pi3
