      @kaptainsteve No, however you need to restart ES in order to get the ROMs to show up once the transfer is complete.

      @herb_fargus I'm going to roll back our mame2003 and may add the current under another name. A frankenmame like this should be done as a separate core imho.

      Perhaps we can encourage retroarch to split it?

      @udb23 I only put this thread here because I saw several people on here and Github saying that Artwork and Samples for lr-mame2010 didn't work. I'm not going to attempt to make configs manually for all the Vertical games, that's why I asked if it could be batch made in my first post :) and lr-mame2010 already makes it's own per game config files with custom controls etc. so these will be overwritten/ignored. I decided to use Android for MAME now (mame4droid 139) as it's far superior. Cheers.

      I was able to resolve this issue by putting the sample directory back into the original directory as stated.

      /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/fba/samples/

      After this, I updated lr-fbalpha again, how this time I did from source rather than binary. After this, I restarted EmulationStation and the samples worked perfectly again as they did prior to lr-fbalpha v0.2.97.42.

      @dudleydes
      Thanks a lot, added /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/samples/
      in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-mame4all/mame.cfg and it works fine!

      @Dewey68

      I ended up setting my left thumb stick in the Retroarch control config menu as my directional input and now the mame2003 games play much better!

      I did the same thing too except I created a sub-folder within the roms directory and called it mame-samples and edited both the 1.4x and the 0.9x versions of the mame-advmame.rc file and referenced my folder there as I found some of my games were using the 0.94 version while others were using the 1.4 version of the rc file.

      On the sample path line, I appended the updated folder path to the existing entry.

      dir_sample /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-advmame/samples:/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/sample:/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-samples

      Any new audio samples I'll download will go to this folder instead of within the samples folder of ADV-MAME.

      The samples work when they're zipped, not extracted.
