You could get one of the many usb NES pads and map the event codes from its B&A buttons alongside the event codes from your Sabrent into one virtual joystick device using "Linux Joystick Mapper".

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did SSH into the unit and used nano to analyze the contents of the config.txt file located at "/boot/config.txt" however none of the settings in there seemed relevant. The only overclock setting I could fine in there was for the "Arm" and it seemed as though the setting was meant for the first generation Pi board. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Wrong file location perhaps? Below is a link to a screenshot.

That is not how to install retropie - that is manual installation of the Emulation Station frontend only. You might do better to use a premade image - note that the RetroPie images are Raspbian Lite.

You are missing the part of the es_input.cfg that triggers the retroarch configuration - you should remove it and re-install Emulation Station from RetroPie-Setup menu 5 and reconfigure

Not sure what version you are running though - so more information might be helpful. You should also try a RetroPie image to compare vs OSMC in case it's an OSMC related issue. retrosmc has it's own support thread here https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/howto-retrosmc-retrogaming-on-osmc/6671

Okay, thanks. I will probably just redo the configuration stuff, but make sure I get all the roms, boxart and metadata carried over. I have another SD card I can experiment on, so I'll give it a go.

Aha! It is the non-LR mupen emulator then. It always takes me 2 tries to get that to compile for some reason. I will give it another shot tonight.

As for OC, I'm done with OC on the RPi3 for now. I have tried everything and none of them were as stable as the vanilla clock speed. I may revisit it once I give the above a shot again. Thank you for your hard work, videos and contributions to this community. I subscribed to your channel.

you are just seeing the end of the boot sequence. Depends on speed of sdcard etc how quickly the machine boots, but the splash is on a timer.
