      What's in the boot partition of the SDcard ? It seems only config.txt is being read and the other files are either missing or corrupted - including the firmware files needed to start the boot. Did you get any errors during the update ?

      You can copy over the files from a good known boot partition, but they'll have to match the kernel you have installed. You can save your sdcard as an .img file, then re-install RetroPie and do an update again. Save the boot partition contents, restore your initial image and copy over the saved file from the correct boot partition.

      @Nakynaw

      My quick question is, since the 4.6 official image is a couple of months old, if I really want to make sure to start from the best basis, does it suffice to run the «update packages»?

      i would, but generally you shouldn't update unless there's something specific you want. and, as always, take a backup.

      Does it covers everything there is to update? And are there things worth updating from source to get latest improvements (especially if regarding n64 performances)?

      see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#binary-vs-source-updates

      the best thing for n64 improvements is patience. some good improvements should be in the coming weeks/months.

      Thanks @hhromic .

      I knew that it's not easy to migrate from Jessie to Stretch.

      Maybe, I should wait for the next evolution of Raspberry Pi... For me, do this migration is a vast amount of time moving files out and in the system.

      Thank you!

      @melusham said in Slow games list loading after a full update:

      Is it a known issue ?

      Not really

      Is there any solution appart from reinstalling ? (a file to delete or modify ?)

      Why would you reinstall ? Don't you want to try and fix the problem ?
      Do you have a lot of artwork for the Arcade ROMs ? Are you running the ROMs from a network share or USB drive ?

      Ok. Thanks for the answer !
      Wasn't sure if you needed that driver for any on/off switch hooked up to the pins.
