@windg I don't think the GL Renderer it will work on a Pi, AFAIR it needs OpenGL 3.3 (not OpenGL ES) and the PI4 supports 2.1 only (see here).

@Zach1812 said in PSX Emulation not workin:

@dankcushions I read that entire thread and probably understood .... 10% of it? I recognize that Vulkan and OpenGL were trying to work together but somehow it was creating a second version of itself and causing issues. Despite trying to understand how @treymerkley got to the point of fixing it (running a debug in gdb with bt?) I still don't understand how to get there. I'm not traditionally a linux person.

you don't really have to understand the thread - it was just for reference. the pertinent part of my comment was:

do you have run-ahead enabled in beetle? if so, try turning it off

@mitu Yeah, I saw that as well. But there is a ccd file with the same name besides it and that it does support. So shouldn't it work anyways?

@mitu said in Beetle psx emulator doesn't run games:

@Tackskull I thought it was pretty clear:

Go to the /opt/retropie/configs/all folder. Remove the retroarch.cfg file. Copy the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist file to retroarch.cfg.

Repeat the step for the psx system, as @quicksilver mentioned:

Go to the /opt/retropie/configs/psx folder. Remove the retroarch.cfg file. Copy the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist file to retroarch.cfg. If you don't have the retroarch.cfg.rp-dist file there, then remove the retroarch.cfg file and re-install the PS1 emulator, it will add the file automatically.

Thanks @mitu this helped me out.

Somehow I had managed to also reset the config. Doh

It seems like the multiplier is locked. I think I was able to track down a reasonably priced 3.1 ghz core 2 to replace it with. Once I upgrade the graphics card in my main PC, I'll probably put the geforce 570 in there, too.

      The Problem was located:
When using pbp files with sbi files the extension both must be lower or uppercase.
Having them mixed will result in the emulator not finding the sbi file since linux systems are casesensitve.

multidisc PBP Systax is as described in the sourcecode comment above.

Its working now. Seems like between the time I installed it (last night) to now there has been a change. Running the update all packages resolved the issue!
