      @AndersHP I cannot guarantee it, but I believe it should work. GOG is selling DOS version of the game and they also use DOSBox to run it... as far as I know.

      @SkittleBrau79 you were installing packages before and your internet connection broke or an upgrade was interrupted or something. Impossible to say.

      @lasagnadevil looking at it, that appears to be for dosbox daum, which can do more than the standard dosbox. If you get the curvature to work let me know.

      @dudleydes said in Mapping Numeric Keypad to Analog Stick:

      Bioforge uses the Ctrl and Alt keys with the numpad for hand and feet combat so using modifiers is going to result in some serious finger contortion!

      On all the keypad-based systems I've mapped this way, most just use keypad input for menu options such as player and difficulty selection, which can be casually selected. However, I can definitely see why mapping a game like 'Bioforge' this way wouldn't be any fun. Intellivision games often make the keypad an integral part of the core control scheme as well and I sometimes find myself doing mental and finger gymnastics in order to simply move a character from left to right. I end up having to tailor map a custom control scheme if I want to play the game any further.

      Anyway, I'm glad you found an option that works for you. It does seem to be the best solution.

      Im not sure if this is common knowledge or not so I apologize if it is. This info is not on the libretro wiki page so I am just writing it now.

      Scummvm Libretro Core. (Windows Guide [Should Translate to Linux])
      Running a scummvm game from command line you actually don't ever have to open the scummvm GUI. All you need is to make sure of is that the game is extracted, and has an entry in the scummvm.ini file like this:

      [dig]
      description=The Dig
      path=C:\Emulation\ScummVMGames
      gameid=dig
      guioptions=sndNoMIDI

      Then you need to make a small text file named after the short hand name for the game. This file only has to contain a single line of text that is also the shorthand name of the game.

      Examples would be: "C:\Emulation\ScummVMGames\dig\dig.rom" inside of dig.rom is just the word "dig".

      Then you would call the game direct from command line: retroarch -L "C:\Emulation\Emulators\RetroArch\cores\scummvm_libretro.dll" "C:\Emulation\ScummVMGames\dig\dig.rom"

      This gets much easier if you have a pre seeded scummvm.ini file like this one and just edit the paths:

      Has anyone tried one of those xbox or ps3 add on keyboards that click onto the bottom of the remote? Not sure if it will even work with RetroPie or if its just to small to be useful. I dont mean as a controller but for basic shortcuts some games use or for word input on some games.

      Thanks for the help here, I've got it working this morning after managing to corrupt my installation last night and having to start again (note to self: back up save data regularly...)

      For anyone interested in getting Daggerfall working, I ended up using the version of the game that comes with the Elder Scrolls Anthology set. I installed it on my Windows machine, and then copied over the folders DAGGER and DFCD into a folder called DF in the roms/pc/ path.

      Edit the z.cfg file in the DAGGER folder so that the line for Path reads DF/dagger/Arena2

      Then launching DosBox, do the following:

      mount d "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/DF/DFCD" -t cdrom -label Daggerfall
      cd DF/dagger
      DAGGER

      The game should launch fine.

      Will set up a script to auto run this shortly, but I'm just happy to have it running.

      Seems to run OK so far, but I've not hit any external areas yet so I expect there to be some degredation of performance there.

      @hansolo77 Well that's a disappointment. ExaGear does kind of just cause a few headaches in terms of being unable to update to the most recent version of Wine. I'm finding that a lot of things that are on the AppDB as running well are not working with ExaGear. Age of Empires, for example, isn't running even though it's 'platinum' on wine's AppDB page.

      Old topic, but it's the one I found via Google after spending some time trying to figure out how to easily launch DOSBox games. Tried to follow both guides, but seemed very manual and finicky so ended up scripting it for my own Pie3 instead - basically it just takes an extracted copy of the game and allows you to select the executable and that will be saved to an init-file. Put it up on github if anyone wants it (https://github.com/tebl/retropie-dosbox-configure).

      @Sander2506 The latest fw is 1.71.

      You could try to flash it with the latest fw followed by redoing the 8bitdo connection from retropie setup and see if that helps?

      Hi @area877 ,

      If you are playing the old Kings Quest IV dos game (the one with the type in prompt at the bottom of the screen that looks like ">"), type save. It will ask you the location, just press enter and then it will ask you to select a directory to store your saves. When you restart, start a game and then type load and the same screen will appear.
