@busywait think it is a failing as card as i was unable to write a new image to it although it seemed to format ok.

regarding the oc, have decided to try 2375 this time, seems to be working ok!!

Two other popular scrapers, Selph's Scraper and Skyscraper, also support Screenscraper accounts, although not via the Retropie interface, but by their command line options and config files.

See The Docs and [these] [two] topics for more information about them.

i solved this in a simpler way.

I made a python script which generates a "AltF4" keyboard event:

      #!/usr/bin/python import keyboard keyboard.send('Alt+f4')

(it requires the pyhon keyboard library. If you don't have it on your system, then give the command "pip install keyboard" to install it.

and added a line to call this script in /opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh:

      emulationstation #auto sudo python /opt/altf4/altf4.py

for me it's solved. I still think functionality like this should be included in the normal retropie build. This prevents a security issue (someone can press alt-f4 in emulation station and will have access to the system with sudo rights with entering any password)

@yogsodoth interesting that it didn't work, I've never had a problem with Win32DiskImager yet. But it's good to know if I run across a similar issue I can always try out etcher.

@mitu your frequency of helping people never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for all the time you put into helping all of us.

If you mean "how do I make the Pi auto-login to Retropie" then:

      sudo raspi-config
      Choose option 3: Boot Options
Choose option B1: Desktop / CLI
      Choose option B2: Console Autologin
Select Finish, and reboot the pi.

@Stag said in xbox controller undetectable after driver packages update - also weird white login screen with cursor after 'sudo apt-get install lightdm':

Sorry to go off topic- do you know of a way to get the open gl driver running? It seems incompatible with retropie and gives boot problems.

The OpenGL driver is not compatible with RetroPie.

      add: emulationstation --no-splash #auto

as it must have been removed, happened to me after updates as well

but when we're talking about custom tags,

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try the autostart and login.

I don't have any custom tags...I just want to make sure that the redone videos aren't overwritten by the original videos. I'm not too worried about the favorite/playcount/etc stuff right now. I just want to get this all up and running. I ordered a replacement SANWA JLF-TP-8YT-SK joystick to swap into my controller. The stock stick is not very accurate, but I got it super-cheap and couldn't pass it up.

This sounds like it could be the problem, I didn't have this issue before I tried to fix the login problem. I will reimage and update if that fixes it.
