      @Fantasens said in Sound not working with HifiBerry Rapberry Pi 4 with OSMC:

      Is there no way to configure Retropie so that it behaves like Kodi by playing audio from both the TV and the Audio card?

      'RetroPie' - or rather EmulationStation - uses ALSA. If you can configure ALSA so that it behaves like Kodi with the default card/output, then EmulationStation - and probably emulators - are going to work the way you want.

      The only configuration for ALSA that RetroPie does is the one from the Audio menu, where you can choose between the audio outputs present on a Pi - Analog/HDMI. For more complex configuration you'll need to configure ALSA yourself.

      In 2.0.10, it looks like a hint was added (SDL_HINT_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG_FILE) to point to a user chosen 'gamesdbcontroller.txt' file. It looks like PPSSPP doesn't use this mechanism to load the file, but it might affect how SDL2 works when the game controller API is initialized by the emulator.

      I'll see if a recent source build for PPSSPP triggers this on a RPi, it could also be something that's changed in the emulator since the last binary build in RetroPie.

      Just as I posted this I managed to figure it out. It seams that when kodi in osmc starts a script it starts it in root directory where it has no privilages. Adding "cd /home/osmc" at the beginning of "/home/osmc/RetroPie/scripts/retropie.sh" solved the problem!

      I'd love to be able to use the attractmode with OSMC, but I think it isn't possible

      I use OSMC for KODI and installed RetroPie via RetroSMC, which now works perfectly with Debian Stretch now that RetroPie has been worked on for Stretch

      I've even tried custom scripts I found that add the attract options to emulationstation so you can switch between the different modes via the emulationstation menu but that doesn't work either as the modes don't appear on the emulationstation menu. At least not with OSMC as no menu options appear and I've never seen the 'Configure Splashscreen' option either with OSMC

      @fraser glad you got it working. I would have suggested permissions next but i know nothing about fstab so i would have been useless on that part.

      @BuZz

      OSMC support is included

      My mistake. I always thought RetrOSMC was installed by some non-traditional means.

      @herb_fargus As posted above, I had tried both the automatic and manual methods with neither of them working. I managed to get it sorted out now though because it seemed like there was a permissions issue that would not allow me to run the RetroPie script from the USB pen from within OSMC.

      I ended up keeping all data and scripts on the SD card and mounting the roms folder to the USB drive and having it work that way.
