    I found an issue with pcsx2 install on Ubuntu 18.04. Rather than photos, just providing the information in the link would have been a better first step as it can help pinpoint the cause.

    You will need to update the retropie-setup script then run this command from a terminal though to resolve the issue (assuming your problem is the same as the issue I found with sdl2 not switching back to the packaged version correctly).

    sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh sdl2 revert

    @jerryb said in Screen Orientation issues on my 'Coffee' Table....:

    Not sure I would use RetroArch for this. I would add a rom_name.zip.cfg file to the folder.

    the text of the file would be

    video_rotation = "2"

    This will rotate the screen 180 degrees. 1 would be 90 and 3 would be 270 degrees.

    so for your Pac-Man rom is nameed pacman.zip you would create a file called pacman.zip.cfg (txt file) with the above line added to it. (again this goes in the same folder as the rom)

    If you need more assistance you may want to add more detail about you build as mentioned here

    https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

    Hope this helps.

    Tried your suggestion to no avail, but gone through RetroArch settings whilst in game...

    Main Menu->Settings->Video (set rotation to 180 degrees)
    Quick Menu->Configuration Override Option-> (Save Game Overrides)
    Exit back to game

    Sorted.

    Alss, you usually have to use the command in the RetroArch config otherwise MAME won't know to enable cheats

    mame2010-cheats = "enabled"

    for mame2003 :

    mame2003-cheats = "enabled"

    Cheats are optional, so are not enabled by default

    I've just checked my mame2010, the samples folder for mame2010 and the "history,dat" and "cheat.dat" are in

    /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/

    I had to build the current mame201o from the optional menu in RetroPie. Be warned it can take HOURS even on an overclocked PI3 and running from USB hard drive. I use the SD card purely to boot into OSMC KODI then control is passed over to the USB hard drive. Its much faster and saves wear on the SD card. I used RetroSMC script to install RetroPie onto the OSMC build, so everything runs off USB hard drive and it all works perfectly, including snapshots and gameplay videos

    Name it mysetup.img

    If that fails, put it on a filepath with no spaces.

    I have some heatsink grease if they don't come with the right kind of heat transfer tape, I would just have to find a way to fix them in place if I go the grease option.

    You won't get help with kodi here. And nor will the kodi team help you with IPTV...piracy. They are trying to get away from that.

    And more then likely if you are running kodi on the pi you are just going to get "lag" tough for that little thing to stream like that. Miracle it even can!

    @grant2258 said in History.dat in mame2003-plus?:

    cp /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003-plus/metadata/history.dat ~/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003-plus/

    Or hardlink the file to save unbelievable 6 MB disk space. :)

    ln /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003-plus/metadata/history.dat ~/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003-plus/history.dat

    (I'm back from a gamer's bar and a bit drunk right now, so cut me some slack, please. :*) )

    edit: Aaaand … I forgot the history.dat at the end. Corrected.

    @colty250 Your problem is not a common occurrence, so there's must be some configuration that's not correct. Please provide the information asked in order to be able to diagnose it.

    @mitu

    Thanks for the useful info! That's more than enough to get me on the way!

    I've got ample general experience with Linux, I've even used some tools in the past that allowed my windoze to read (don't remember if also write) linux formatted media, but again I'm lazy nowadays so ...

    I thought maybe Attract Mode would be fundamentally different from the normal retropie, but if it's fundamentally the same, then I already got my ROMS running from USB, and now that you told me that all artwork for Attract Mode can be scraped and stored on usb stick, I'll google around for the best scraping databases.

    Got a Raspberry Pi 3B, but I'll soon buy a second one and that'll be a B+

    Again thanks a lot!!!

    That did the trick!

    Thanks for taking the time to help me out! I'm still trying to learn my way around linux ^^
