      Can your run

      ls -la /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/

      and post the output ?

      I would like to note that on another RPI 4 unit running 4.7.11 that the gamepad configurations do not save and when you exit a rom the controller is unresponsive.

      This means the configuration of the gamepad is not saved in the EmulationStation's configuration file. Can you post the contents of $HOME/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg ?

      Being from the U.S., the only time I ran into trouble was when the image updated to default to a UK English keyboard layout. My @ or something similar (Shift + <a key>) combo became something else until I changed my keyboard to the right type.

      @Riverstorm Just thought I'd reply to say thanks for the detailed response to my post! There's a lot of information there, but the combination of LaunchBox and BigBox is a great fit for me. I just grabbed the latest version of MAME, matching ROM set (actually the same as the ones I tried with RP), pointed LB at the ROMs and left it to pull in all the associated imagery, videos, marquees, information etc etc. Took it about 8 hours, but the setup is working really well with minimal effort, honestly. I'm mostly a hardware engineer (PCB and FPGA design, but also MCU programming in C/C++ and ASM) and don't have as much time for tinkering as I'd like at the moment - quarantine hasn't lessened my workload!

      Yes that old server originally had 3 GTX1060s installed as it was used by me mostly for CUDA and machine learning development. I was training some models on it, and the GPUs obviously are hugely faster than an i5 - or any CPU - for that type of processing. Those GPUs had never even been plugged into a monitor before now :) I took 2 out as there's no point having 3 to run MAME - especially as they are not SLI capable! My main server is used mostly for storage and some command line tool development, and has a more standard spec - just lots of RAID disk space and memory!

      Thanks again, and have a nice day!

      Oh, yes the box was initially using the NVidia drivers, and I did use glxinfo, and was actually using the Nvidia desktop config tool. As said, it was weird, but I didn't spend too much time on it.

      @dankcushions I'm not using any shaders on any of the emulators. And what about the 117Hz instead of 120Hz, what's the deal with that?

      @mitu said in Regarding v4.4:

      Wrap the contents of the file in code tags (````) so it's readable.

      @quicksilver said in Regarding v4.4:

      @rk1gaming put four back tics (````) without the parenthesis before and after blocks of code

      Actually, three tics suffice. 😌

      I think i have similar problem. i can't change type of the machine and TV standard.
      I always endup with Atari 800, 48k, NTSC.
      If screen mode of my Pi Zero is 50Hz i have difficulity with the keyboard, like it running on max speed. Only game i have and can run with this setup is Jet Set Willy. Music is obviously at 60Hz sync and scroller have drops due to 50Hz screen and 60Hz emulation interference.

      Changes made in emulators menu (F1) are saved properly. But the emulator never respect them. Or some of them. Because paths to ROM files and BIOS files are used so as the color settings.

      Am i missing somehting obvious? It's seems to be caused by something in emul. execution parameters witch overrides the cfg values. I don't know. And i want my Draconus, believe me.

      What i have already done:
      Downloaded and installed the retropie twice.
      Updated system and retropie
      Changed, rewrited, downloaded from other people and saved from emulator. Config file Atari800.cfg.
      Changed the rasberry screen mode to 50Hz and back.
      Changed ROM specific (a button during game launch) config to 50Hz, added MACHINE_TYPE=Atari XL/XE, DEFAULT_TV_MODE=PAL
      and... nothing.

      thanx guys.
