@scaramoosh you do realize the pi5 has only been out a short while. The dev don't get it earlier then the rest of us. They got them when we did.

So it takes time to get a image done. It took almost a year after the pi4 was out before a official image was released by Retropie.

So it will be about that long for the pi5 my guess.

Hi MITU I finally solved problem with HDMI on Pi5 with Retropie:
First of all i have bought this KVM EDID Standard Emulator

Second problem are margins:
So I have modified
/boot/firmware/cmdline.txt
From:
video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60D

To:
video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60mD, margin_left=56,margin_right=56,margin_top=28,margin_bottom=28

And now finally my Pink (english) TV CEA works at 1920x1080p 60hz 148.500mhz
And EmulationStation is Centered and fit the screen (also in terminal).

So I think that KMS driver VC4 inside of Raspberry pi5 isn't compatibile with all possible vsynk + and hsynk - or inverted parameters of polarity, is only compatible with vsynk+ and hsynk+.
The KVM emulators (around 3 dollars) solved all my problems.

Unfortunately the PieMarquee2 scripts relies on omxiv (depreciated and not compatible with arm64) to place the image on the second display. fbi doesn't seem to be a good replacement and I haven't found a way to make cvlc display to a specific hdmi port.

if I find an app or you know of one I'd love rework the scripts to get my 64bit P5s marquee going.

Updated Doom the Way Pi Did IMGs Released 20250616

Changes worth noting:
Updated GZDoom to v4.14.2
(+The Latest version of myhouse to match)

That's about it, no other Updates or Kernel changes or anything.
Honestly I did not want to make any changes at all since this IMG has been Rock Solid for me on x3 Pi5's including 16GB model.
But the changelog for GZDoom v4.14.x was HUGE.

The issue you're experiencing seems related to ControlBlock (driver/service, I'll see if I can reproduce it on my system. Not a Pi5, but maybe the behavior is similar ?

I use ControlBlock on my Pi3 with absolutely no problems, it’s been rock solid.

We don't have a definitive date for the update that will bring Pi 5 support. Is there something in particular why you're waiting for the Pi 5 instead of getting a Pi4 ?

I think everybody's hoping the Pi 5 will emulate the GameCube with Dolphin. Don't know if that's really going to happen or not.

PS2 emulation is probably still not going to happen on anything that's ARM-based because of pcsx2 still having too much x86 crap in it.
