      @juanzt that cool. I have also found that just changing .bin to .iso works on psx emulators. Doesn’t seem to effect anything unless a game uses CDDA. It just won’t play the cdda.

      @br23z I guess my first question would be "What is the difference between Ape Escape and your other games?"

      What format are you using? BIN/CUE, ISO, ZIP, M3U? According to the docs ZIP files are not recognized. Do the images work on your PC? I'M NOT ASKING FOR THIS TO BE ANSWERED OUT LOUD 🤫 just ask yourself in your own mind - are they all from the same source? Did you rip them all the same way? Etc?

      I'm no LINUX programmer so I can't suggest anything that way BUT my common sense tells me that if one works they all should if supported. My troubleshooting sense tells me to look at my images first then move out from there.

      @adambegood just so I understand...the solution was "fix the code and recompile your emulator from source" or am I reading that wrong?

      Yep, change Line 35 of the scriptmodule to BUILTIN_GPU=unai and then Update from Source. Let me know if you need more detail on how to do that, I am no pro but could just about manage this!

      How exactly isn't it working? Are there any messages? Did you enter the command correctly letter-by-letter?

      Can you uncompress a single ecm file with ecm-uncompress followed by the file's name?

      @cnoto said in Playstation roms:

      @cnoto Actually I got it.

      We don't support 3rd party images, as stated in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Either install a RetroPie image from retropie.org.uk/downoad or ask the author for guidance.

      U can always just take the *.bin *.BIN from the es_systems.cfg

      <system> <name>psx</name> <fullname>PlayStation</fullname> <path>/media/usb0/roms/psx</path> <extension>.cue .cbn .img .iso .m3u .mdf .pbp .toc .z .znx .CUE .CBN .IMG .ISO .M3U .MDF .PBP .TOC .Z .ZNX</extension> <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 _SYS_ psx %ROM%</command> <platform>psx</platform> <theme>psx</theme> </system>

      @jojin Look in the Docs, there's sections for each emulator, look over the Getting starting guide, the Emulationstation pages, then later on you can take a look over the RetroArch and Advanced configuration options. Feel free to ask in the forums also, there's no wrong question (well, almost).

      @BJRetro I think I did the lr. But when I went to update, I could not find the binary option. Only from source. I'm also not sure what the difference is :s
      Thanks for the tip, this might be it. Will look up how to do it.

      You know, on first glance I thought there were multiple required files in each primary folder, but it looks like there are only identical .bin and .cue files for each game. Since they are not being recognized as duplicates anyway, there should be no issue moving them up a directory. Thanks for the help!

      This is why I unpack ALL archives as it avoids ANY issues with unpacking them via the emulators that support archived ROMs and also saves stress if your using just an SD card for all your RetroPie useage, except for NEOGEO, FBA and MAME that MUST stay as a ZIP file

      @darksavior said in psx emulator not working. tryd everything:

      @steptoe Eh..even the most minimal of compression, eboot conversion is still my preferred way. Especially to convert multi-disc games to a single eboot file. You still need a cue file for .img.
      It also doesn't hurt that just about every US release is already converted and it's more convenient to download those instead.

      I pretty much do the eboot way as well cause some of my games i have copied over to ISO's would total up to around 1.4GB which after converting them to eboot files it would usually drop down to a little over 900mb instead which i am able to add more games onto my Pi because of that.

      @pcnoob90 try to find .spi file from your game (maybe your game is protect "epsxe").
      I have the same problem for FF IX and FF VIII. Add the spi file solve the Black screen for me.
