    I'm not sure why it drops out to emulationstation, but I do know that you need to open the system manager and delete all the corrupt saves in the vmu, for some reason the first time you start the emulator all the slots in the vmu are taken up with corrupt saves.

    @citenx @82347
    You should try what @edmaul69 suggested: use the http://github.com/meleu/RetroPie-joystick-selection

    Why?
    Because it uses SDL2 to get the joystck list. Maybe Linux thinks that a Bluetooth keyboard is a joystick, but SDL2 knows what exactly is a joystick.

    You guys don't need to understand these details, if you don't care about it. Just try the joystick-selection and see if you are happy with it! ;-)

    I am really the only person who uses it currently - but it is for maintainers - it is for building binary archives (the ones users install update from). A module is a single component - a section is a group of components.

    @xpz , thank you for sharing your preference, I also use CRT-pi. That shader pack is insane. I am sure one day there will be an RPi that can do even more amazing things. RPi 3 isn't even a year old yet.

    Cool. Yeah I got into that link too while waiting for a reply.

    So: Parse Gamelists Only: If on, it will only read the roms you have scraped, so if you add any new roms it will not look for them unless you turn this back off. it is off by default.

    Damn, I must have touched it without noticing it. Thanks again.

    upgrade retropie-setup and remove the emulators you don't want from the gui.

    @gomisensei it populates immediately after a load, but I guess only if the emulator
    actually logs info to the console. what are you trying to load? please read this: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

    I just got my first Raspberry Pi and installed Retropie. I have loaded several Mame roms for mame-libretro and was feeling pretty cool. Then I accidentally switched the "TAB" to "None" to pull up the in game menu. Right as it was disappearing from the screen I screamed, "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......!", in a long drawn out slow motion type scream. I knew my only hope was a forum. As senkun said, thank you very much for coming back and updating the thread. I am new to command line stuff so knowing where it to look is a huge help, now I have to do some research and figure out the right commands. I have hope! Thanks again!

    I think you'll need to start over as the code and optimizations for the ARM6 vs ARM7 are different.

    The forum uses markdown - http://commonmark.org/help/ three backticks for code blocks or one for inline code.

    You have retropie 3.4 I think, but the base OS is Raspbian Wheezy, so you will need a new image for Kodi 16 - upgrading from Wheezy is not recommended.

    Ah, gotcha. Thought there was another alternative method. I mentioned doing that in the initial post.

    If you delete the joystick cfg files, it would probably recreate them after you go into the RetroPie menu and configure inputs again.

    After that, get to the terminal (press Esc on your keyboard), then type the following commands,

    cd /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/ ls

    There should only be a couple of files in there, look for something with logitech or rumblepad in the name and:

    sudo nano YourFileNameHere.cfg

    Look for these lines:

    input_enable_hotkey_btn input_exit_emulator_btn

    If you don't have those lines, add them somewhere towards the bottom.

    Mine is listed as:

    input_enable_hotkey_btn = "6" input_exit_emulator_btn = "7"

    This means, my enable hotkey button (tells the Pi you're going to issue a command that isn't related to the game itself) is the "Select" key (or better yet the "Back" key because I'm using a Logitech F710)

    And the command button is the "Start" key. Now I can hold down "Back" and press "Start" to get back to the main menu.

    This page should be a little more descriptive if you need a hand: RetroPie Wiki -> Logitech controllers
