check these settings as well or add them
sdtv_mode=0
sdtv_aspect=1

and
#overscan_scale=0
should be overscan_scale=1

after that try
overscan_left=10
overscan_right=10
overscan_top=-8
overscan_bottom=-4

Yea I've played around with it a fair bit though so it could be related to something non standard. Just wanted to set the retropie menu view to Basic and everything else to auto in ES and thought this was a way...

This isn't a solution and I haven't tried it but as I thought through the ES options I wonder if this would work.

Setup a custom collection with the games you want included in that collection.
Then turn on "Start On System" to be that collection.

BTW, I haven't seen the "Start On System" option yet but I'll take a look at it this evening .

I've seen quite a few requests to allow the user to choose the first selected system. Unsure about how to implement that (i.e. need to think about that), but noted.

[As you've come to see the past few weeks, though, "noted" just means I've made a note of it and added it to a list of things to be done. Unfortunately I haven't been having any time to contribute to ES in terms of testing or developing recently, but hopefully when I have some more time I can pick up some of these things.]

I thought the hotkey was a specific button to quit que games.
But thank you for the help!

I won't be using mpg123 as it has no real ability to control playback. I have something better in mind.

After loading ScummVM through command line, I get this error.

WARNING: SDL_SetVideoMode says we can't switch to that mode (Could not initialize OpenGl / GLES library)!
