Yes, I installed it from the imager and updated to the latest version. Thanks for the explanation.

@dankcushions My main worry was that the msu-1 file will get entangled with other files, especially if I was to add ,ore msu hacks, but this is more of my paranoia. I also thought it would be more tidy, but if it adds more clicks and I can't use lr-snes9x anyway, I guess I'll pass.
      Thanks for your help!

@pinho83 said in Controller priority on retroarch emulators:

I changed controller configuration for lr-snes9x and lr-pcsx_rearmed so I can use the two logitech (more confortable with shoulders and triggers) and works good. I connect Logitech only when I want to play snes or psx games.

How exactly did you do that ? If you configured it from RetroArch, using a control remaps, then you need to remove the remap.

@mitu I used the first option to add those binds to the retroarch.cfg file in the snes folder and I have all my SuperScope games working just fine now. Thank you!

@hermit That's not how it works. If the ROM in question worked with an older version of the snes9x Libretro core, but the same ROM has an error now, we should report this to the upstream project - so it gets fixed in the future.
You already have a topic opened on the Snes9x board - you can report this regression there, mentioning the ROM name (and checksum) and the versions implied - the one working and the non-working one.

@thelostsoul said in Secret of Mana 2 - Very strange blurry to sharp problem:

Is there a list for such games?

just google for interlaced games for the console in question. eg http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2017/10/the-rise-of-interlacing-in-video-game.html

following that link, i should correct myself in saying that SOM may use a higher horizontal resolution, rather than an interlaced mode. still, the effect is the same; your shader is doing some sort of per-pixel shadow mask, but the game changes the amount of horizontal pixels, so it's going to look different in those scenes.

And whats the best way to do exceptions and set different shader for single games?

      per game overrides.

@eldrethor Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I'm more concerned with performance than recreating exactly how the game felt on the original hardware, but I understand how those who want the pure experience go with lr-snes9x. I personally don't feel like I should overclock for SNES games (partly because I can't find a consensus on a safe OC), so I will probably be sticking with the default emulator. So far it has handled everything thrown at it, but if at any point I become more concerned with accuracy I know what to use.

      Thanks

I made the problem known on the official github but the person can't reproduce the problem, and told me to try one already built from libretro. In trying it out, i get the error relocation error: /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-snes9x/snes9x_libretro.so: symbol _ZNSt7__cxx1112basic_stringIcSt11char_traitsIcESaIcEE10_M_replaceEjjPKcj, version GLIBCXX_3.4.21 not defined in file libstdc++.so.6 with link time reference

Might this be a reference to not having the latest gcc?
