@sugarfree Ok that's great to know about the Vulkan driver. I do have it installed and working on lr-flycast-dev but was never able to get it running on the standalone version of Dolphin. It keeps throwing me an error.

So I'll give these scriptmodule changes a try right now.

Hi! I just ran into this myself, and thought I'd post this for anyone else who had this issue to give an alt method, If you want to configure it with the GUI (which may be easier). It takes a few steps, and you will need a mouse.

install Desktop in Raspconfig
2 use the dekstop terminal to run QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb /opt/retropie/emulators/dolphin/bin/dolphin-emu
3 configure your controller
4 important- while you are here, configure your hotkeys as well. Dolphin does not recognize the normal hotkey /exit button, it uses its own.

You can edit both GC and Wii controls this way

If you want to play GameCube or Wii at fullspeed on a Pi5. You must use Dolphin standalone.
You just need to set your controller once and create hotkeys like lr-Dolphin and it will be like the lr-dolphin with the same hotkeys.

No, but you can already do that by choosing the dolphin-gui emulator entry.

Yes, it's possible to start the games, but they will run very poorly. If you want to play Wii games, try another system - preferably a PC (x86).

Lakka has made some good inprovments for Gamecube, not sure how good for Wii games, but you need to overclock the heck out of your Pi to get good results on Gamecube

@retropieuser555 I usually test sonic adventure 2 since the slowdowns are seen right at the first level. CPU 2000/GPU 750. There are a lot of framedrops on that downhill. With vulkan those are almost eliminated.

Without vulkan, the standalone version of flycast is faster than the included retroarch version. Cmitu has a wip script if you want to try it. Loading games from ES loads to flycast's menu instead. https://github.com/cmitu/RetroPie-Setup/tree/flycast-standalone

I'm not sure what's up with redream. Overall, it's way faster than any version of flycast but the huge frame drops to the point where it can make the game freeze for a split second makes me go back to flycast.

The solution to get rid of the blue fog screen is to install the Ishiiruka version of dolphin....

Bonjour, j'utilise retropie sur ubuntu 18.04 et installé dolphin.
tout fonctionne a part que si je met la langue de la wii en francais , a chaque démarrage du jeu avec emulationstation le jeu change de langue automatiquement et repasse en anglais.
sur la gamecube je n'est pas ce probleme
quand je lance dolphin sans passé par émulationstation la langue que j'ai choisi se met bien et reste tel que je l'ai mise, des que je lance les jeux avec emulationstation la langue se modifie et ce n'est plus celle que j'ai mise
Es-ce que quelq'un a déja eu le cas et a une solution

@hackedmacbook111 This is a RetroPie forum, not a macOS forum. Besides, RetroPie is not responsible for developing the emulators, it just packages and configures existing emulators. If you want to run emulators on your macOS, then use the macOS versions of those emulators.

For anyone else looking at using a Wii like this; I couldn't find any reliable sources for the internal dimensions so I measured and did a drawing myself. Hopefully this is helpful to someone...

@danmed yes I have the .78 romset rom and chd for area51mx running on advancemame and runs well for me. Just a bit of a hitch when entering a new area for instance.

Not an expert on this, but I think RetroArch doesn't read directly from GPIO (I2C or otherwise), instead it uses an established input driver (udev/sdl/etc.) - https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/tree/master/input/drivers.
